I wouldnt say its really sorted after he had to wait weeks for a reply. Weeks for them to sort out their mistake instead of making it their top priority and ignoring all his attempts to talk to them.

I have always had good dealings with slide in the past but after this i wont be dealing with them again. Thats what happens when you treat people the way he has treated yogibear

LOL its no where near sorted.......

i haven't heard from slide since the "14 May 2008, 12:56 PM" and he wrote

heres a list of our pms

14 May 2008, 06:14 PM

I would like the matter resolved in the easiest way possible, where both sides get what they deserve. I am a paying customer who asked for goods which i didnt get and had further charges placed on me as i didnt recieve the goods that i payed for. I have done nothing wrong here i just want the pressure plate and the money which i payed newcastle gear box and diff to install the faulty clutch that i was sent. They install these for a living it is there specialty they know what they are looking at. They even gave the clutch to a parts interpreter from first choice brake and clucth and they said it wasnt even an Exedy clutch.

I have sought advice from people as to what i should do about the matter and was told a simple request should be the first way to go to try and resolve things peacefully and as easy as possible.

The reply i get back will determine my approach to this matter and any other action which i may take. So hopefully i will get the correct goods sent to me and half the cost i endured through recieving the wrong parts which comes to $341.00 plus postage costs which come to $22.00. So the amount which i would like to be repaid comes to $180 as well as recieving the goods i initally paid for and i will not settle for anything less then that.

your Sincerely

The replacement pressure plate will be sent from Victoria to you from our supplier and we are in discussion with them about potential reimbursement.

No Supplier or reseller would just refund you for costs as it is assumed that the installer knows what it is that they are installing.

The flywheel sent was vastly different from that of a Skyline flywheel but we will see if we can sort something out.

Hey mate

I cannot tell from the pictures if the kit is the right item.

Please send it back to us so we can check it out, if the wrong item has been sent the replacement will be sent out and all postage costs will be refunded.

Please let us know.

Regards, Brent

===============================================

no offence but brent what is your number this aaron fella is just messing me around not retruning phone calls , hanging up on me when he hears m voice...

i want this sorted out.

thanks

===============================================

Hey mate

Offense was taken from an abusive message left on a company phone which we both answer.

The above instructions are our return policy, from that we can observe the situation and come to a positive outcome.

If a mistake has been made then we apologize and once the clutch kit has been received we will be able to find this out.

On the box itself it would have clearly stated what car the unit is for.

If it was the wrong clutch kit then we would have swapped it straight away.

Please send the pressure plate back to us aswell as the release bearing at:

Sliding Performance

111 Pioneer Parade

Banora Point

NSW 2486

The clutch plate for all of the Nissan's we sell for is interchangeable and this item is not required back.

Regards, Brent

========================================================

and what about me being charged $341 for labour witch was a complte whaste of time becasue of yous? and you wonder why i em abit angery? you havent said a word about the fact your mistake has cost me me money?

look every one has all readdy told me to go to fair trading and to be honst i dont want that, all i want is my clutch witch i paid for and for you too at least foot HALF of my bill i think that is very reasnoable.Hey mate

Until we receive the pressure plate back we can not even be sure of that.

The box will clearly state which clutch kit was enclosed.

Please also include that when returning the pressure plate and release bearing.

Your postage will be refunded upon receiving the pressure plate and bearing.

If the clutch does display the item on the box which it should, then it would have been best if we were contacted straight away then we could have had a replacement sent out to you.

We are aware the pressure plate does not fit.

Please send the box, pressure plate and release bearing back to us asap.

Regards, Brent

======================================================

its in the mail now with bearing and all in the boxit come in + a copy of my bill from "newcastle gear box and diff" witch i em fairly sure they know how to install a clutch and they said it couldnt be fited as it was wrong.

======================================

so when it retruns and it is wrong are you going to foot some of this bill?The kit that was sent out would be written on the box.

Once we can gather this information we will let you know.

Regards, Brent

=======================================

it come in a white box with my name on it that is all.

it should be thier in a few days.

please keep me posted i just want this sorted but i really do think i em being very reasonable with only wanting 50% of the bill back , i would seriously think about this offer or i em going to fair trading mate and i will just go for the whole 100% but i em a nice person i do see mistakes do happen so i only want 50%.

i just want this all sorted asap.

We were just informed of this thread by another customer Yogi

In a few other PM's we let you know that we would try and retrieve some compensation for your install costs by our supplier, as they box all of our HD clutch kits and ship them to us.

Its true that we do not know the clutch kits that are included in the box apart from labels letting us know the kits enclosed, this goes for all things like injectors, turbo kits etc all being boxed by manufacturer/supplier.

A clutch kit was sent with the wrong pressure plate and as we have let you know in previous PM's this will most certainly be replaced and the item was received last week.

We then let you know that your item would be replaced and we would see what we could do about potential reimbursement for your troubles through our supplier.

This has happened and a PM has been sent earlier this afternoon to let you know.

Being abused by any method of communication though is not appreciated, we understand your frustration in being sent the wrong item though we could not know exactly the issue until we received the item back.

Please tend to your PM and let us know, we apologise for the inconvenience.

3 pages strong, its good topics like this can be left so the problem can post an apoligy an see that f*king around 1 person can mean no business from 100, with closing and deleting, more an more people can get ripped off and like this, shit sponcers can be highlighted..

personaly never delt with slide but would feel bad seeing a thread like this on your own business..

yogibear, good to hear you came to an agreement.

chris_r31 it is comments like yours that get threads closed. I haven't seen anyone here "get ripped off" or "shit sponcers". yogibear had a problem with slide which has been resolved. and before you say it was resolved because of this thread, read back through the pms properly. slide clearly explained what they needed done (ie return the parts so they can confirm there is a problem before agreeing to anything), and then they acted once they had received the parts as asked and confirmed the issue. And you can bet they are wearing the cost and the manufacturer won't pay it, which means they are out of pocket for someone else's mistake too.

ripped off is the people we regularly have to ban from here when people pay for parts and receive nothing. or gets something the seller knew was not working, and then disappears.

nothing was directed at slide....

but slide seeing this probably made them put a bit of pace to there arrangment with the unhappy customer..

no workshop or sponcer would like to see topics like this about them, but its good to see that they can be exposed for other members to way up the pro's and con's about workshops and sponcers...

after all im sure not many off us have money to just burn, and atleast with threads like this, happy or unhappy customs can share there experiance and people can decide...

It's good that Yogibear got what he wanted/deserved.

personally, I would have wanted 100% of the bill back.

The sections highleted above are absolute rubbish, and boil my blood.

Here is the fact.

I am your customer, you are your suppliers customer.

you are the middle man.

you order a mcshit load of products from your supplier.

you pay them dollars and receive your goods, stack them on a shelf.

advertise your shit for sale at , lets admit it, damn good prices.

i from the public buy your well priced item.

I sacrifise something to have a day off to have it installed to find the item was not what I ordered, or what was actually labelled on the box.

I am then inconveninced for 2 weeks.

This is after I pay you in FULL for the item.

and you reply back with the above quote in BOLD.

That is a load of shit mate.

I'm sorry, but that is crap.

I have not bought from you nor will I ever.

but the public are dealing with you.

if there is a mistake, "YOU" foot the bill to pay back that issue, THEN, you go to your supplier with the error they made, and what you had to pay the customer for their f**k up, and get your money back form them.

The customer doesn't want to know or should know any of that shit.

an error was made regarding his clutch, he needs to cover a bill he had to pay for that f**k up, and now needs his money back.

since the item was purchased from you, the re-embursement should come from you.

how you then get your money back does not matter to the customer.

sure, provide an explanation of where the error was and that you are refunding him and will chase up your own re-embursement from your supplier, but that is between you and them.

not the customer.

seriously, when you first popped up on these forums as a trader with your great prices etc, everyone was so happy.

and since the demise of your cheap hiflows, it's been a steep downhill trned.

looking at your profile, R34 GTR purchased, on top of all your unfortunate hospital bills and your lack of staff or shopfront, you are obviously doing "ok" for yourself.

You might want to consider hiring a junior lacky who just sits there and deals with suppliers and customers to close this gap you have.

I'm not saying you should be a big time business, but even as a small business owner, you need to learn ALOT about business.

moderators stand up for trader cos the website makes money from them and the more they sell, its smart business.

hey johnny mate. how about pulling your finger out and use it to donate some money to the forum? if the forum had enough money to sustain itself based on user donations then we wouldn't need any other paid advertising and you wouldn't have this problem. and as duncan pointed out everyone who works on the forum (myself included) does so for FREE. I have never received any payment, or favours, or goods in kind for any work I have done on the forum over the years either from traders, or users or the forum owner. I do it purely to give something back to a forum which was a huge help to me when I first started out with skylines.

as for the website making money that is another joke surely? the website uses donations and trader payments just to keep it going. there is no pot of gold under the SAU rainbow.

It's good that Yogibear got what he wanted/deserved.

Agreed!!!

i do have to agree with gtst here...

when my car was damaged at a carwash i was told i had to get the money from the employee that damaged the car and it was not the carwash's problem... long story short the carwash paid after a lot of threatening etc... but really they should have paid me and then dealt with their own re-imbursment however they wanted

ok beer baron, i appreciate this site very much and have just made a donation. I also appreciate the great prices from forum traders for the skyline enthusiast.

the anger i feel is like most other members that the trader has made a 'rare' mistake and should have quickly rectified it at their own expence before they gain a bad reputation.

this whole thread is a prime example why i will pay the extra dollars and buy from a local store or workshop (if it is something that they are fitting). another reason why i will buy from a workshop if they are intalling the part is that while they may be more expensive on the part they will generally charge you less on labour than if you bring in an item that you bought elsewhere, so you sort of get money back. and also if something goes wrong with the part they will be more inclined to help.

as for who should wear the cost of it all, etc, well working in the retail industry just plain sux. the customer always thinks they are right no matter what the circumstances. in this case i think the main guilty party is the manufacturer. they put the wrong clutch in the wrong box. so how was slide to know that it was wrong unless he pulled it out and compared it with another. and if it was from the same company, he could compare it but if the supplier had stuffed up 2 clutches then he could say "yes i have checked it and it is the right one" but he has just compared it to a wrong clutch. you could also argue that the buyer should've checked it was the right one. to which point most people will pipe up and say "he shouldn't have to". but then why should slide have to check it was the right one either. now i am not taking anyones side here, just putting out some points of view. the only party not in the wrong is the workshop as they spent time trying to do what they were asked and couldn't as the parts were wrong, so why should they lose money.

as far as trying to sue slide, that is just a waste of time and money. it would cost you more in legal fees than what you would get back.

all i can say is that more people need to learn from the mistakes made by others. when you buy from a local shop and something goes wrong there is someone there to go and talk to about it. they can't simply not return phonecalls or emails.
