Bee-R at cafe de-villis lol no not really haha

i got a question for the law knowlegable.

say i gotta go to court and i loose my license for 6 months but then i still have two more court dates for possible loss of license

what happens does my time get extended that i have no license for??

it hasnt happened yet (next friday though lol)

and no im not gonna say what i did

im sure if they have a read through this forum, they will realise we DO NOT tolerate Hoon driving.

just sucks they are going to this extent to keep an eye on us.

maybe a sticky thread addressed to the sapol explaining what we are about is an idea? MODS?

Thats not a bad idea Craig....only prob is that alot of the posts on various threads maybe a contradiction to the sticky thread.....they're not stupid, they'd be more interested in the conversation of import drivers if they did in fact read these forums.

Thats pretty easy Max........dont forget your paddle when they send you up "shit creek".

Seriously though....would need to know what you did.......they can definitely extend your term and hit you even harder in the pocket. Anything up to 2 years and if you were drunk and in an accident where someone sustained injury, anything up to 5 years and possible prison time as well even for a first offence.

I think if you get a lawyer they might be able to get a combined hearing, that is one which lets the single magistrate deal with all cases at the same time. Depending on what you've done, it can either save your licence or extend the suspension. 6 months loss of licence is generally set when there's a mandatory sentence, either thru drink driving or dangerous driving. 6 months is unavoidable, and can be kept to the 6 months minimum if the lawyer can successfully argue a negative impact on you (ie you use licence for work, it'll cause u to lose income, etc). If the other counts are not mandatory loss of licence, the in most cases the magistrate will convert those into a financial penalty, such as a fine.

Fess up now, what'd u do? Burnouts on someones cat while drunk?

Hello

You see the fact of the matter is that most import drivers are out there and more times then not commiting an offence.

We are employed by the government to protect all of the Responsible drivers out there. Today on my shift i spotted four import cars taking off from the traffic lights erraticaly, now that doesnt show much for the rest of the import driving community.

Another example is the Creator of Nissan Silvia . com was caught doing underground illegal drifting in queensland recently and he is supposed to be highly responsible due to his image.

I will be attending the cruise on this sunday to make sure there are no Hoons out.

Thankyou

well excessive noise is one, talking on the phone is another, driving a defected vehicle is another, and a substance to stop a speed camera flash is number 4

so yeh i think im stuffed

just carry around a cardboard cutout of me and ill be there in spirit :D

That will reduce the penalty.

Hi SAPOL, welcome to SAU....where enthusiats reside :(.......cool might see you on the cruise...also can you please clarify it for me why the cop's had a defect station at mallala when the drifts were on.....

Thanks for posting, if in fact you are who you say you are, but its all too easy to throw all import drivers in the same basket when it's generally only a minority that are irresponsible on the road..... a good example was the large cruise with up to 1000 imports at Castle Plaza & West Lakes recently with very little trouble.

You'll be quite surprised at the various mix of occupations & drivers of imports (ie anyone from a doctor or teacher to an investigator) and that are purely car enthusiasts. I see reularly on the news when there has been a police car chase that involves an import as apposed to a Ford or Commodore in a similar situation and the focus is alot different, ie only as recent as the other day on King William Street......I think the drift scene may have contributed to that somewhat but the point is, there are less enthusiastic car owners out there in cheap Holden & Ford V8's that attempt to emulate on the road what they see in the drift scene and put lives at risk as well.

We just ask that you keep and open mind and not tarnish us all with the same brush.......there are hoons in every class of motor vehicle and the focus needs to be on the individual.

Hello Krishy,

the only reason that there was something set up there was due to numerous amounts of hoon behaviour at recent events.

We were not just picking on imports although majority of them did get defected. Apart from the few cars that got impounded for illegal street drifting it was a safer weekend then normal.

Thankyou

May I also state that impersonating a sworn officer or even allowing a member of the public to be mislead into thinking that you are a police officer is a federal offence........but you would already know that and therefore having nothing to fear.

What station are you based at?

That will reduce the penalty.

I too would be interested in this. Obviously if people are driving around on bald tyres after a drift event its putting people at risk, however I can't help but feel that when a track event is targeted, it doesn't particularly encourage people to do the right thing. Naturally, "we import drivers" don't want to be targets, and we do discourage hoons whenever possible, and encourage to get their thrills in a legal, safe and supervised environment, however the question still stands; why target import drivers when there are just as many idiots in locally produced cars, or those that drive unmaintained vehicles which are blatantly flouting the environmental and safety laws. On the topic of "import drivers" I'm wondering just how many people in Mercedes or Alfa Romeos are getting pulled over in proportion to Japanese cars.

You see the fact of the matter is that most import drivers are out there and more times then not commiting an offence.

This seems like an unnecesarily obtuse comparison. "Most" import drivers? I hardly think so. Certainly the younger owners have a tendency to do stupid things, but thats the same for across the board. Its like everyone saying that 'all police are bullies' based upon a single negative experience. I'm sure you'd not like members of the general public being prejudiced or rude when you're just doing your job. We don't want the idiots to spoil our enthusiasm for our cars. Work with us here. You'll find we're not the cliched idiots from the Fast and the Furious.

Today on my shift i spotted four import cars taking off from the traffic lights erraticaly, now that doesnt show much for the rest of the import driving community.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by erratic. Was their acceleration disproportionately fast to the surrounding traffic, or were they lane switching with undue care? If they were being idiots, then you have every right to pull them over, however many of us get pulled over when driving sensibly.

Another example is the Creator of Nissan Silvia . com was caught doing underground illegal drifting in queensland recently and he is supposed to be highly responsible due to his image.

Well you can't say that NS is any reflection upon the members here. If one of your colleagues was caught accepting bribes, would you appreciate us thinking that all line officers are corrupt? I think not.

Kind Regards,

Dohmar

Hello

Thats a very strong statement you've made there. You obviously have accurate statistical proof to back this statement up? Show me the data which has logged the number of import cars caught speeding and how it was matched against the total number of import cars in SA. Then we'll see if "most" import drivers are indeed committing any offence.

Today on my shift i spotted four import cars taking off from the traffic lights erraticaly, now that doesnt show much for the rest of the import driving community.

What is your opinion of "erratic"? Did you stop and charge these offenders if they were indeed speeding?

As the police have informed me in the past: its hearsay. You said they did. Thats as far as it goes.

I see cops all the time talking on mobiles. Now that doesn't show much for the rest of the police force does it. Shall I generalise you any further?

Another example is the Creator of Nissan Silvia . com was caught doing underground illegal drifting in queensland recently and he is supposed to be highly responsible due to his image.

Again, was he caught and charged. Again, this is hearsay.

Don't bother wasting your time, or ours. Why don't you catch the car hoons drag racing up and down Anzac Highway, rather than bothering the car enthusiasts.

^^^ I'm with Sled.

Could we kindly have your badge number and name please. We'd love to correspond with you to discuss how the import drivers can be better viewed in the eyes of the law.

Unless of course you are not. In which case one of the Mods could give your IP address to the real police and you'll be in the shits for impersonating a police officer.
