hi guys,

im running my r32gtr, has 325awkw on 1.35bar (street tune)...what times can i expect to hit?

what else do i need to do to prepare the car? (this is my 1st 1/4 mile run)

my tuner recommended i run octane booster then i can run 1.45bar boost, on 1.35bar knock level doesn't go above 25 so its nice & safe :)

how about tyre pressure what should i run & will i need to do a burnout to get the tyres sticky?

my guess is that i dont need to worry about these 2 things being an AWD...

regards,

depends wat ur chasing i guess... a street car set up time or a race time.

if u wanna know what sort of time u can do on a street you have ur tyre pressure at street pressures (about 32psi) and have just standard 98octane fuel. and thats it.. should see mid-high 11's.

if u want a race time, tyre pressure at about 22psi and run the octane booster and take out your headlight infront of the pods to get more cold air in and u should see low 11's.

also depends on how u drive and ur ability. its critical on gear shifts and how u get off the line. but after a few runs you'll find the groove and feel more comfortable launching in a race environment.

Low 11's

i did 11.4 and didnt let out any tyre pressure or really worry too much this was with r compound circuit tyres.

wouldnt worry about doing a burnout if your on street tyres. as i doubt it does much at all.

other than that

do a good launch! and you'll be set.

what is a good launch? ive done 5000rpm & its nice...ive also tried around 6000rpm & it goes ballistic (u can smell tyres frying all 4's)

4000rpm & it gets boggy...

changing gears fast & clean would be important but not flat changing right? i dont like hurting my car :starwars:

thats a nice time - what power are u running to achieve this?

dont bother with octane booster, run 100ron if you are worried about knock

drop tyre pressure to 20psi and get your time slips, they are good data & help plan improvements

then head off the drag section on the forum and read read read, once you have done a few runs and got some time slip data

this would have been done on my shagged turbos (most of the front wheels were missing) which made about 400hp.

also i have close ratio r34 box tho this didnt really help my 60' times at all which were around 2.1 tho it helps with the abuse.

i think i did around 6000rpm using handbrake to hold in stage while i reved up and engaged the clutch and off i went.
