TRUST =

Was just gonna post that

That was with a BatMBL split dump, 3" catco, and trust pe II. It sounds a little different under load than in my garage there. It's a pretty quiet exhaust until you give it some.

are u serious? u must be talkn about some diff type of kakimoto because the only ones on sale atm are the mega n1 and the Regu 06 & R. and both are 3.5" exhausts with a 6 or 7" tip. that thing is a monster.

Yeah that is what I was thinking... I mean the Regu could possibly be a bit quieter but the N1 full mega is a beast... But still compliant, which is what I'm looking for...

yeh i agree, trust are very quiet. have u ever tested it with a db metre?

I know this is an R33 GTR, but here is a sample of a Kakimoto zorst..

which kaki is the importent question. if itsa 6 year old exhaust theres not much point in lookn at it. just like the old HKS dragger systems

Edited by R34NRG

There are so many different opinions on all of the mentioned exhausts and its hard to tell from youtube vids because there are so many different variables that all the cars have that which change the exhaust note. I haven't shopped around too much yet, but from what I've seen not many of the exhausts have a kit available for 4 door 34's which limits my choices a bit. To summarize what has been discussed so far...

Trust PE2 - a little bit too quite for people's liking

HKS Silent - not too quiet, not a bad note when your pinning it

Kakimoto - N1 sounds like a monster with a 6" or 7" tip - so probably bit too loud for what I'm looking for

Blitz Nur -sounds pretty sweet, but i dont know if it comes with a 4 door kit

Apexi - does it come with a 4 door kit?

HKS HI-Power - ?? not sure any thoughts

I haven't tested it with a spl metre.. but in comparison to my previous systems - Nismo, Apexi N1. It's louder than the nismo, but still far quieter than the Apexi N1 (i found the N1 a little too barky for my tastes, whereas the PE2 has a much deeper note to it).

i still rkn HKS silent sounds like a girl......dosnt have that note i like.

the HKS Hi POwer is another story, very very nice exhaust BUT is in mild steel which we all know isnt that great compared to stainless.

Yeah well my other mate has the kakimoto exhaust with the titanium tip look one, and gosh its even quieter than the HKS silent one and really can only hear it if your right behind the car.

that would be the Regu 06 & R.

gosh maybe im wrong....i always heared those things were monsters.....full turbo back system ur mates? 3.5 all the way?

I can vouch for the batmbl / Bos importing and Catco metal cat, they are great. I have them on my R34 GT-t 4 door.

I have some Nismo cat back system, but i cant comment on the sound it makes. When i was putting on the dump pipe i snapped a bolt in the turbo, and ever since all i can hear is this huge exhaust leak sound haha.

  • 2 weeks later...

Blitz Nur Spec V exhaust, not the spec R. In terms of performance it's one of the straightest systems out. And the note it makes is bloody amazing. I haven't heard another exhaust system on an rb make such a sweet note... 900 bucks catback system. All you need then is a hi-flow cat and your front/dump and your done. I reckon you could get away with it for about 1200 if you fit it yourself.

Good luck,

Ev.

ive got a blitz nur spec 3" catback and cat from batmbl im planning to get rid of for a 3.5" system

anyone interested shoot us a PM.

but ill try get you some youtube vids asap.

honestly i still rekon the Blitz sounds the best. but unfortunately for me its a 3" system and not a 3.5 or a 4 =[

    • I've owned a few scooters over the years, a Vespa PX oil burner was my first scooter, followed by a few others, including a little 50cc BeeWee that I used as a barracks bike, and I've had a blast on all of them, they really are the cheapest for of city/suburb transport around The only issue with scooters in Australia is lots of people look down on them due to their size,  maybe they need a big bike to make up for something else where they are lacking, unlike Europe and Asia where every man an their dog owns one, and now that filtering is legal in NSW, local traffic is never a issue Not to say I haven't owned my share of big cc bikes over the years, but they were for more blasting through the hills or Hwy riding where it needed to sit on Hwy speeds Safety wise, I ride like everyone is always trying to kill me, everyone is running a red, or running stop/give way signs, or generally asleep at the wheel, which most people are duringtheir commute, I also ride really safe, and give myself, and everyone else enough room in case I need to pull some hasty evasive actions, I've done a few rider training days over the years, which has come in handy on more than a few occasions  As for mods, there's nothing really, and yes your right about aftermarket exhaust, all you get is loud and obnoxious noises from them, like every 250-300 cc you hear with a aftermarket muffler, in saying this I did put a rear muffler from a 125 Aprilla on one of my old 125 scooters, it was horrendous and no amount of full face helmet and ear plugs would dampen that noise As for coming from the Harley, and what a overpriced POS that was, I no longer do big rides as my poor old busted joints ache after about 1/2 an hour of riding, long cruises are so much more enjoyable now in a car, so a big bike would be pointless
    • Oh wow, it's easy to forget how cheap these can be. Probably the cheapest way to travel. Though people in cars here tend to be morons and I would not feel very safe. Were scooters ever big in Australia? It used to be the thing growing up in Europe ~20 years ago. 50/70/125ccm Peugeot or Yamaha and some others. Utterly obnoxious Polini race exhausts. Kick stands that slant as much as possible. So loud. So much noise for really not moving very fast at all. But it felt cool at the time. Not sure where I'm going with this, but there is an aftermarket for mopeds! Though I'd have pictured you more for a Goldwing kind of guy after growing out of the Harley.
    • You need to know I am sorry for this.
    • As the MX5 isn't apparently "manly" enough, and I need something for runs to the local shops, and also take to my part time job at the salon, basically I can keep the MX5 away from car parks and stuff......like "flying lockers", I was wondering what I could buy to fix this issue LOL, I pick up a new Yamaha 125 Delight this arvo from Trooper Lu, basically a R1 that you can fit a slab of beer on between your feet, also, it was $29400 cheaper than a R1, so actually it's 2 x better than a R1
    • Nah. H2S. H2S is "rotten egg gas", which is what is associated with no cat. SO2 is equally nasty, and if you've ever smelt it you'll know all about it. More of a choking, acid in the back of the throat sort of thing. But you can only smell it in a narrow range up to about 1ppm. Above that, it irritates your mucous membranes, but you don't smell it.
