Hi Guys,

Okay here it goes, i installed a new dash cluster only to find that the previous owner had disconnected the Air Bag light.

When i installed the new cluster the Air Bag light would flash on and off repeatedly.

Now since i am 99% certain that there was no accident history i began to wonder why this could happen?? Well i think i have the answer afer some searching.. :D

It seems as though the way to fix this is to reset the Air Bag ECU, very strange procedure:

You can get rid of it by...

Flashing ABS light reset

Key on door open

Key off

Key on

Hit the door pin switch 10 times

Will only work if light is flashing

Can someone explain this process in more detail please? what does each step mean?

Im sure this will be of help to other fellow S2 GTR Drivers some day!

Thanks,

Harry

best way is to check the fault with a scan tool

so you know what part of the SRS system is causing the control module to log a fault

but the steps you have listed above go like this

enter the car and close the door

turn the ignition on

open the drivers door and leave open

turn the ignition off

turn the ignition on

press the door pin 10 times (located on the bottom of the B pillar)

turn the ignition off

now when you turn on the ignition back on the SRS light should come on for 10 seconds and then turn off and stay off

ive got the same problem but mine is constantly on.

when i bought it, the previous owner told me he removed the steering wheel to boss kit on, only to realise theres a different boss kit for air-bagged equipped steering wheels...and its a defect, so he put the original wheel back on and ever since the light is always on

ive tried the above procedure, but no luck (prob. coz my light isnt flashing)

any help guys??

any luck finding a solution?

my 33's had the airbag light on since i purchased the thing. it has had the standard wheel replaced with a momo wheel and boss kit. i've just purchased another airbag wheel but am hesitant to fit it incase there's a fault in the system which may sett the airbag off in my face and ruin my new wheel.

i cant be sure that the light is only on becase of the non standard wheel and not because of an accident which may have occured before i purchased the car.

any help????

if you fit it all up and the ignition is off it wont go off

and even if there is a fault logged it wont fire the bag

fit the wheel and airbag, turn on the ignition (make sure your out of the car) check to see if the light is still on

if it is

follow the above procedure

Just tried that and it worked for me!
