Ive met dog shit thats smarter than you.....On the same token....ive also met plenty of "graduates"that dont even know what a 1/2 drive ratchet is.....excessive schooling usually ends up in working in mcdonalds...not to mention hard working tax payers like me funding austudy ect so that when you eventually get a job get holiday pay/sick leave/public holidays and so on.....bring back IR and weed out all the bludgers....the only reason that people didnt want it coz this country is full of them ....now quit filling up his thread

Ive actually been in a situation with my old Mazda 323 too. I was cornering and suddenly the rear kicked out. Now this is a 1986 1.6l automatic front wheel drive. I had no idea what to do and the car slid for a bit (probably not a bad drift) but because I overcorrected, ended up spinning it around the other way when it got traction and spinning out. Facing the opposite direction to traffic in the middle of stud road.

Now while I wasn't going slowly, I definately wasnt driving at excessive speeds and definately not taking the turn any faster than I had in the past. The rear just suddenly slid. It left like it slipped on something. Im almost certain there was some oil on the road or something, as for my old car to react that way, it wasn't normal. It gives you one hell of a shock, thats for sure. We just always need to remember that the roads themselves arent always a smooth surface and especially at night on road, it can be impossible to see dangers.

Hopefully it is fixed promptly for you. I had the body work done on my R33 by Imperial Finish Body Works on centre rioad in springvale and they were great. My best mate has used them several times. See Murray there. I let just cars choose the mechanic for repairs, and they chose Carrera Motors in Nunawading. Interesting story there, but thats for another time.

Sorri to hear that mate... Glad that you weren't hurt. One of my best mate died last year when his silvia crashed in to a power pole at low speed (not speeding, or drunk) around a corner in the wet. Just goes to show that you really don't have to be doing anything stupid and stuff like this happens.

Personally I hate driving in the wet due to its unpredictability. JUst take it as slow as possible, nice and easy. Make sure you have plenty of tread on your tyres.

My fronts were just some cheap (130 each) 225's directional tyres and rears 235's but were bit different (170 each) forget brands..

Yeah wet roads suck thats for sure.

Wider tyres always make a nice upgrade. Im using 235's on the front and 265's on the back of my R33

Theres a huge difference between good and bad when it comes to wet weather traction.

Never run cheap fronts...you'll always end up hitting a tree or something similar.

My bro's got cheapo chinese tyres on his commodore and I reckon you could push the car sideways in the wet and it would slide it's rediculous how bad the wet weather traction is.

That'd be the accident on Kent Ave, Croydon? I remember that, it was absolutely tragic Terrible piece of road in the wet, it was only a matter of time before it happened.

To the thread starter - sorry to hear about your accident but good to hear you're comprehensively insured. It does look like a fair amount of damage.

i was driving the other day in the wet! let me say my tyres cost more than my rims =\ and i sliped out at the back doin about 10km/h

i was turning right at a T-intersection and it sliped up hill as i was making the turn doin 10km/h

i own a gts4 so im AWD and i sliped so comes to show anyting will in the wet.

after i was bored spo i walked to where i lost the back (it was about 600meters away from home) and saw on the slope of the road in the rain the roads are so sh!t that its making a mini waterfall of water, think the goverment should have built better roads.

i guess anyone on a sloped road keep this in mind because it was way in the back of my head before i checked it out
