Hey there,

Is there anyone on this forum from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia?

Am currently visiting KL and need help to locate/suggestions for some great places to check out re

1)car scene

2)good spare parts shops

3)bodykits

I am looking to source a front splitter for R33 - Factory M Spec kit. Any suggestions?

Also, can you point to a few places that sell great range of auto accesories in the KL area, ie, Steering wheels, gauges, etc and ideally for R33's?

Thanks so much in advance,

Justin

The main car stuff/shops is in Sunway. Theres heaps of accessories there (gauges, etc.) and bodykit shops that will happily custom fab up something for you. One of the biggest shops there is N1 racing, which has a lot of quality parts in stock.

Another shop I am especially fond off is SS Racing, it is nearby the Sunway area, and if you ask around any shop in Sunway they will direct you there. SS sells a lot of second hand aftermarket gear, and a wide selection of drool-worthy stuff for about as cheap as you will find in KL.

I guess the only other place I can think off to go would be Sepang, if theyve got a track day going on, would be fun to watch imports going around a world-class track. And not to forget the illegal drags nearby the highway to Sepang, but its hard to catch if you dont know anyone ;)

Hey there,

Thanks so much for your help. I will definitely check out the Sunway area!

The only place that I know about is a place called Brothers which my uncle took me to the last time. Thanks for the advice about Sepang. I may have a chance to get onto the track as one of my relatives I found out races his Satria coming up on June 1 and also in the 12 hour endurance race (RS Motorsports?)

Thanks again. Can't wait to see what Malaysia has to offer. So far, I have only seen a R34. Lots of Protons with 4G63B conversions!

Cheers,

Justin

I'm from KL...

*laughs* Brothers is definately not the place to shop for your skyline. Lot's of cheap, low quality knock offs there.

There are a lot of shops in the Sunway area. There is a Duke Parts Malaysia and a Trial Tuning Spirit Malaysia as well.

When will you be visiting KL and for how long? I'm not back in KL yet, but will be next week.

If anyone needs help, I'll be more than happy to point you in the right direction, just shoot me a PM or email.

    • I believe there was a similar one posted by @duggyphresh. They were re-routing their battery positive cable in the way I am also trying to achieve. Sorry, I’m new to this forum, so was a bit late to the party by a few months and so reignited the old thread, as I wanted to know how they got on with doing it.
    • Wasn't there a thread on this very subject just a few weeks ago?
    • Hi all! Looking to relocate the battery to the trunk of an R34 GTT. I want to do it using as many stock GTR components as I can (including the harness protectors from the 34 GTR that run underneath along the chassis to the engine bay). So far I’ve purchased the battery tray from a 33 GTR, as the captive weld nuts are already there just asking to be used. There is also the slight issue of now having to relocate the ABS/TC/Fuel Pump Control ECU, which in GTT’s sits right above where the battery will then sit on the tray. Has anyone already achieved this, and if you have any pics that you wouldn’t mind sharing? It would be great to see how others have done it and where you put them, as there are countless holes in the parcel shelf panel to potentially use. Just trying to get some ideas bounced around, and to help uncover any potential problems I may encounter by  my choice of location. TIA for any help!
    • Brand was ard.   I also threw a brand new battery at it and beefed up the wire from the alternator to battery and added an extra earthing point from the battery
