Ok..according to this website:

http://translate.google.com.au/translate?u...en&ie=UTF-8

My car actually comes with Bluetooth & Voice command as a factory option.

Searched G35driver on ways to pair the phone and according to their site, you need to press the button on the steering wheel with the pic of the man who looks like he's shouting and say "pair phone".

Anyways, tried that and nothing happened...BUT found out tht the bluetooth is linked to the factory nav unit..so stuck the CD in waited or it to load and then pressed the steering wheel switch.

This is what came up:

IMG_4280.jpg

A girls voice muttered something in Jap which I presume is saying something like " say a command"

I tried "pair phone" and the girl muttered something which I gather is "incorrect command or not found"

I tried "TV" and it brought me to the TV screen! - so my voice command works!

I tried a few other words in english which actually brought me to different menus including the trip computer.

Below are a few screens which you might find interesting:

Built in GPS?

Nearest gas station?

So to sum it up, I believe bluetooth is there somewhere I just need someone to tell me how to say PAIR PHONE in Japanese! ;)

do you have the phone buttons on the steering wheel, or the standard audio buttons or both?

from memory, bluetooth was only available on the series 2 cars..

Yes I have the phone button, voice command button and the volume and track buttons...and yea mine is a series 2.

lol.. bluetooth does come stock with the gen 2 premium v35's... I would assume that it would be done via the phone menu rather than the voice command. What happens when you press the phone button?

My Cima has the voice command menu.. ill go through a quick run down of the commands:

Eea Con On - Air con on

Eea con off - air con off

shiii di - cd

efu emm - fm

ai emm - am

terebi - tv

emu dee chenga- md changer

dee bee dee - dvd

The most handy ones require u to learn how to count in jap which allow you to say the radio station or set the temperature

eg)

kyu hyaku go juu yon - 954 2ue

ni juu do - 20 degrees

you can also say commando risto which will display all the different commands.. if you want to take a photo of the different tabs ill let u know if ive missed something.. especially under the phone tab which should say フォン up the top.. also the carwings stuff sounds interesting ive never really understood wat carwings was all about..

anyways have fun

cheers,

k

Thanks KArim!

I will definately give those a go later. However, like any bluetooth device the phone is connected to, it needs to be paired to the device first before it will work. I am still missing the command for putting the V35 bluetooth in pairing mode so my phone can detect it. Any ideas? Have you managed to get bluetooth working on yours and how did you do it?

Cheers,

Jon

I could've sworn i replied to this last nite.. how bizzarre..

anyway.. i doubt you will be pairing your phone via voice command.. wat comes up when you hit the actual phone button? I assume it will take you into the phone menu where u will set all that stuff up.. send through shots and i will guide you through it..

When I hit the phone button an error message comes up in Jap and then disappears (attached screen shot)...I assumed that was for the hard wired phone which incidently I also have that connector in the center arm rest which only fits a jap handset.

Only reason I figured it was to be paired via voice command is because of this:

http://www.infiniti.com/bluetooth/setup.ht...&modelid=15

This is the setup guide for the G35s in US.

If you can tell me what that jap message says might give us a clue.

the jap is saying "connecting, or still verifying". if it stalls there, then it's probably not recognising the phone, may be u should try a few different phones?

hmm ive done some readin... might have some bad news.. i dont think it actually does have bluetooth.. the v36 definately does but i dont think yours does... the translation you got was pretty bad it says

It actually says handsfree phone not bluetooth handsfree

Also does the drive have the bluetooth logo on it? If it does maybe I'm wrong.. otherwise its just handsfree via the cable >.<

interesting read :P

what does "carwings" mean - it has that on one of the photos.....

Hi eMsta,

This is what I found on Carwings, very cool option.

Makes me wish I saved a bit longer and bought a newer model!

    • Yep, that was one of the things we learned fast in the past with our MX5. When you drive with the top down, you are effectively standing out in the sun, 100% of the time, and not getting in any shade (because roads aren't shaded generally!). Just like standing out in the middle of a field on a sunny 27C day is a bit of a bad plan, so is sitting in a MX5 without sun protection.
    • I also just ordered some Frankenstein bolts and side mounts to fit a hard top Just in case I do find one, basically so it doesn't need to be fixed to the car with only the front latch.......and then gaffa tape to keep it in place for the RTN journey from wherever I get it
    • If your temps are fine now, you probably won't have any issues with where your vents are as they don't look right up at the windscreens high pressure area, so any differences when giving it the beans for extended happy laps would be minimal, but, they should vent heaps when stuck in traffic  Much like how that reverse cowl on my SS let "visible" heat out when stationary, but, because it was basically at the windscreen my coolant temps on the Hwy actually raised because air was being fed into it at speed (110kph), to only come back down to around 90° when I got off the Hwy And your 100% correct about the NC currently not needing vents, but, if I was to add a turbo, and a oil cooler and intercooler in front of the condenserand radiator, and then take it to the track???? It is apparently a recommend requirement if I don't want to worry about coolant or oil temp issues, but, any of the above are possible scenarios, over time As it sits now, with the triple pass radiator and stock air conditioning system, I have absolutely no issues with either temps or air conditioning efficiency, I've been basically daily driving thie car for the last month, both on the Hwy, and peak hour, bumper to bumper traffic, but, that's pretty much expected from basically a standard engine  Talking about no issues daily driving, it was 39° the other day and I was sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on the M5 and then M7, with the top down, and with the air conditioning blowing nice cold air on my feet, balls, and face, well, there was one issue, my head and arms got pretty sun burnt Note to self: leave a hat and sunscreen in the car for such days 🤣
    • I would agree, unless you need something specific to the HV motor/battery side repaired or investigated, any mechanic will be able to perform normal services, but if you prefer, maybe look for a mechanic who regularly services/repairs Nissans, the VQ engines are pretty common in the Nissan lineup.  Sorry, I can't make any suggestions, I don't live in Vic.
    • Some of them keep working fine. 9 out of 10 of them end up causing an absolute misery bleeding the system and get thrown on the workshop floor in a tantrum and never thought about again because they were never really needed and just added crap to the car that we could have done without. Same-same with HICAS, A-LSD, and various other stupidities that over eager 10x engineers thought we had to have.
