i have been doing a little bit of looking around for bolt on mods for a NEO RB25DET and came across the plazmaman inlet plenum which u can by with a throttle body and intercooler as a whole kit for about $3000 (thats the competition spec cooler and billet T/B) cheaper coolers available and an R33 T/B would fit. i was just hoping if anybody could tell me if they thought that this plenum ( you use the stock runners etc) would rival the GREDDY manifold. they also make a great looking Stagea specific cooler.

im a bit pissed of that i will have to sacrifice my traction control to do this but thems the breaks.

where would i find the traction controll unit, fuse or what not if mine has it? (s2 rs4 s 98)

when i dump the clutch off the line it just wont spin em up but i thought it may just be my weak clutch or too much traction.

I suppose my question would be- can the $3000 odd be better spent on other mods for the car?

sorry but I am completely unfamiliar with what mods you have already

if that new plenum and TB is going to give you the power you need ( as you have all the other supporting mods already - ie after market ecu or bigger injectors etc ) then yeah go for it

but if there are other things you can spend $$ on then I would go with that

ie - just dont get it if its for looks/bling

my main reason for this is that i hate the throttle body and intercooler piping assembly going over the top of the motor when it can be moved quite easily. i realise a just jap bolt in cooler is only $500 bucks that uses the original return pipe but i just dont like it and that's it. i have a pretty stock car at the moment but it's not going to stay the way for much longer so i thought kill a few birds with stone or 3000 of them any way. cooler t/b and a good flowing manifold that will all bolt in without major modification and give great overall response and hp gain with head room for more modifications down the track. they guys at plazmaman advised me that the Greddy manifold is really only good for drag racing (WOT) due to its short runner design. well if i go through with it i will let u guys know about the results before and after any other modifcations.

RS4's dont have traction control due to them being AWD. mine is only RWD like a GTST R34 therfore it has traction control.

Please tell me when you find one, I have used lots of brands and styles since 1999 and haven't found one yet that does all of that. I am currently using a cheap China GReddy copy on the basis that If I have to make mods to get it to work properly I might as wll start off with a cheap one. But that still requires washer bottle relocation, cutting a 75 mm hole in the inner guard and making a throttle cable adaptor the same as the original GReddy. So it's hardly "bolt on".

If you have no intention of upgrading the internals, then the best manifold is the standard one. Everything else that I have tried loses power and response and has issues with distribution.

Cheers

Gary
