Why? Because they don't have cameras to cover the whole carpark.. even in the most secluded corner

I park there almost every day for work... yesterday i got back to my car spot and she was gone... turns out some lowlife scum tried to steal my car... and failing that, stole another car.. used it to push my car down 2 levels of parking (no, no cameras picked this up at all.. noone saw it and noone reported it) to a secluded area of the car park... and stole my rims.. They left in the stolen car... star city managed to catch them leaving the carpark.. oh joy!

by the time i found the car it was balanced precariously on a jack on one side (in the middle of my side skrit so its now bent) and my spare tyre on the other side... the car was very unstable and was leaning a little on my front bar which is now cracked and broken

All up the f**kers got:

4x Work Emotion XD9 rims, 17x8.5 fronts, and 17x9.5 backs... one of the rims has 2 seperate sections of gutter rash on it

Powerfc ECU and hand controller - Serial number to be added

And some lame ass cds

If anyone comes across the above selling cheap (and I will find my ECU serial number to add to this), please let me know so I can pass the info onto the police.

Thank you.

Mona

Thats no good you would think with all the money they have that there well be cameras everywhere....

I always go star city for dinner and an occasional gamble lol never had trouble there thought it would be a very good sercue carpark now i will think twice...

And yeah its good your car wasnt taken

Oh crap.. not good Mona :D

Hope your bits turn up!

I've made it a habit to hide my controller under the dash since the prices of PFC have skyrocketed..

"star city managed to catch them leaving the carpark" - I guess you meant caught them on video, not caught them physically?

sorry, i meant they were caught on camera not physically caught.. i wish!

Yes there was an alarm.. thats the only reason they didn't take my car and settled for the next best thing. The reason the alarm didn't notify anyone is because, i believe, they were actually in my car the day before.. they disabled the noise box but when they tried to get my car yesterday, they still couldn't get through my alarm which pretty much imbolises the engine

My ecu and hand controller are not in sight.. the ecu is behind the kick panel in the passenger footwell, and my pfc has cabling into the glove box.. the assholes did not steal my radio, turbo timer, or boost controller or gauges.. they obviously wnated the car, and when they realised they werne't going to get it, simply took what they could as quickly as they could.. i suspect they opened to glovebox to find and take what was in there, and ended up finding the hand controller which they then traced to the ecu..

I'm always suspicious of the security guards at places like star city.. it just seems all a bit convenient that they get away with barely any trace. The thieves are either very stupid to be stealing from a place that is theoretically covered with cameras, or they know that they cant get caught because they're mates with the security guards or whatever.

I'm not saying that in this case the security had anything to do with at all, its just a conspiracy theory!

Hey mate i'm with you on this one, i slept in my car once at star city, my boys were gambling and it wasnt my thing, was buggered so i thought i'd have a nap in my car (r34), 10 minutes later a security knocks on my window asking if i' ok, told him i was just sleepy and waiting for my friends.

Wondered what would have happened if i wasnt in the car....

    • Hey all, I'm working on a project car and I believe I made some mistakes. I'm looking to remove the clear coat from my car on most panels (except for panels where the paint has blistered, I will sand this), but wanted to know if these steps are correct?   1) Get a red scuff pad (abrasive one) instead of sand paper to remove the shine from the surface 2) get 400 grit sand paper and go over the entire car with a random orbital sander so the surface is smooth and the primer can grab onto something 3) On the blistered paint, go over it with around 120 grit sand paper, go to 240 to smooth out the scratches, then finish on 400 grit. Anything to add in here or any feedback?
    • Agreed, another vote for the Haltech CAN wideband.  No voltage offset errors is a beautiful thing.
    • Just get a Haltech CAN wideband, no need to wire any delay circuits, or relay, etc. Since I've moved to a Haltech CANbus wideband, I have not replaced a single sensor for over 5 years (if not longer, can't remember when moved to Haltach).
    • Small analogue delay circuit with a relay. Just need a trigger, say, fuel pump running for more than 5s or so? Or, you could go full mental and write a sketch for an Arduino.
