Don't Ever Park At Star City Casino Carpark

Its sad to hear all these stories about people stealing and vandalizing cars. Such low lifes should have all their limbs broken and then set on fire.

But even with all these dangers, you shouldnt have to be scared to the point your car spends its entire life in the garage. Otherwise its a wasteeeee!!

When I have to park somewhere a bit dodgy or for a long period of time, i drive my hail damaged corolla and its all sweet. no one wants to steal it coz its so bad and its already in a vandalised state. So having a second crap car for that is good.

When i have to drive my car i park it somewhere "safe' looking, put on my clublocks/alarms and never leave there for too long. Or just park next a mercedes or something. always works :(

Hope everything works out for you mate. Thanks for the headsup, not gonna park at star city. unless its the corolla. =D

i really don't think star city care that they are offering a service to paying customers, then not even giving those customers the security and peace of mind they need.. i mean i drive everywhere.. and i never park on the street.. i would rather pay $30 for parking than park on the street.. but all this experience has showed me is that regardless of the money you spend, your car is never guarenteed to be safe! (I am sure some carparks are more secure than others!)

either way, this has just taught me to never have a routine with parking... avoid parking your car anyway for long periods of time... and i'll always be paranoid no matter what!!!

Just so people know westfield chatswood has recived a increase of crime in the car park and now regularly patrol it with general security who just monitor the car park for any dodgy people which i find is a great thing (first westfield ive heard doing it) they arent there to stop people just deter people and keep an eye on the car park

*they arnt actual security guards just guys hired to walk around, so they arnt dodgy (sorry to all the security guards here)

Thought id drop it in this thread as its similar info.

Best solution is prevention. If possible dont park it anywhere it cannot seen 100% of the time.

Or buy a run around.

Sorry to hear this happened, stories like this always make me cringe.

awwwww let us know how everything goes..

Keen to know if insurance will pay out the money on the items lost such as rims etc...

How does that process work tho?

Do they just give you money to pay for rims, power fc etc??

Btw did they steal the hand controller only? or the whole power fc?

Hi there :(

There is nothing worse than having some "low life" getting there sticky little fingers on "whats NOT theirs - so so sorry to hear that !

I believe there is only one sure fire solution - "a second car" - they cant steal it from a carpark if its tucked up at home "snug & safe & sound" :)

Sad its come to this but these scumbags are like a school of sharks forever circulating until they stumble upon one - we gotta be smarter than they are and remove from the equation the very thing theyre looking for !! - otherwise sooner or later theyll stumble and - HEY PRESTO !! - ITS GONE !!!

Hope all comes together re insurance !

Cheers malcolm

Very gay moanie :D Not cool

We need those alarm kits like in robocop where they fry the scum f**kers when they enter your car with 100,000V of electricity, or maybe just a flame thrower, although you might need a respray... ;/

Good luck getting everything back together again!

lol at robocop!! that'd be awesome if it gets the losers!!

mal - i couldn't do the whole second car thing.. it would just never get driving and would take up unnecessary space on the driveway.. plus the added costs :D would rather spend it on the car  its ok.. i'm going back to public transport.. and will drive in when i can park at work and i know that carpark is secure than most around the city!

chris - yeap.. josh is on it.. he truely is a lifesaver :)

Hi Mona,

So sorry to hear about your situation.. As mentioned over the phone from WORK  i have been in a very similar situation approx 6 weeks ago... i was parked at Star City casion for a period no more than 4 hours. between 1pm and 5 pm my GTR was broken into right at the front of the car park, and was whitnessed by a patrolling security guard.

The perpetrators then APPARENTLY FLED the scene in a stolen vehicle. What is the puzzling part for me is how my car ended up at the back of the carpark POST incident? So my question to them was "why weren't the police notified?" "how is it that the car was left unattended after an attempted theft"? Of course they could not answer these questions, even when posed by the police. the CCTV did show the vehicle entering and exiting, but it was confirmed that there are no cameras in the car park. So i guess a few vans in a sting operation would be a completely unwitnessed event unless the guards want to be part of the greater problem which may result hospitalisation.

So i sympathise and empathise with you Mona. Its the feeling of violation that hurt most for me in the end, It still burns me to think that these FARK knuckles are out there possibly doing it as we speak.

If you need anything to help get your car back on the road please lt me know... you know where to find me :P

Best of luck with getting this sorted...

T..

so sorry to hear that mona!! thats so shit :woot:

the sad thing is they dont want to put cameras in the carpark because then they would have to put more security guard in place to show that they are actually securing shit, which will then make it a secured parking with higher costs, and parking there is already expensive.

bottom line is i wouldnt park anywhere that doesnt say 'secured parking'. if there isnt a secured parking then i park on the street in a busy area. no none will steal a car in plain sight in a high traffic area, and if they try then 90% of the time there will be cameras to ID the people involved.
