Fmic Fitted To Stag

Fitted the FMIC in place on the Stag and started the 2.5" piping to the stock piping to the SMIC. Front bar is fitted and there was no trimming or cutting required.

You heard right. Reo bar is untouched. Front bar has not been trimmed or cut. Unfortunately, I had to remove the extra driving lights fitted to my Nismo S2. It was getting dark and I was pressed for time, so no pics were taken. I am continuing and finishing the piping tomorrow, so I will take pics then, before removing the front bar, after removing the front bar, and then upon final completion of fabricating the piping.

:D

So happy with it.

Yeah, sorry got your PM, just busy with MY stag for a change LOL. I'll take pics of it, when I take the pics of the FMIC tomorrow.

I'm a bit disappointed I had to remove the driving lights, as thats why I got the 450x300x100 FMIC in the first place. Maybe I can relocate them after? But first and foremost was to avoid cutting into anything ... which I achieved.

When to Discount Mufflers this morning and picked up the bends and length of piping I needed. Best get too much than not enough!

:D

ADD:

Finishing off the job yesterday, I took the extra time to pull everything off again and go about finding a way to mount everything back and up 1/2 inch in a bid to retain the driving lights. relocated the piping brackets and all. Good news is that it worked and I've just got to redrill the mounting holes in the reo bar and the driving lights will go back on. :)

The driving lights will cover up the reducers/clamps and I'm keen to lightly spray the cooler satin black for a more stealth look. :(

One advantage of having a swimming pool was being able to seal up the piping and dip it in water to look for leaks in the welding. :D Also, while I was messing about with the piping, found a clamp that was a tad loose. Hmm, may have been enough to be leaking boost.

Sounds like it was a good fit....nice to hear that ruby.....

Maybe thats where the "nismo" difference is with my Stag, with the exception of the Momo wheel, badging and front end ... looks like it had a fmic in mind. Very accommodating! :P

I'll hopefully fit the driving lights back in tonight. They'll be about 3/4 inch forward than normal, but you'd never know it.

Hmm, less than half the intercooler is obscured by the bar, but I don't want to go cutting it. Or moving the number plate ... wanna keep it looking stock. In any case, the exposed part of the cooler is still bigger than the smic, and with the cooler an easy 1 inch back from the reo bar, there should be sufficient air flow getting in there.

:)

So are you doing the piping yourself? are you welding or just using silicone joiners?

I have my own mig welder, so I've done it all myself. Just bought the bends from Adelaide Discount Mufflers.

I was hoping to handball the job to someone else, couldn't be arsed doing it, but did it myself to save $600
