Rb20 And 25 Oil Lines

hi all,

just a quicky, if i was up-grading my turbo from the rb20 to the 25, can the same oil lines be used? or are the oil lines better off coming from the 25? also, does all the pipe work, and dump pipes line up still?

Standard lines will work fine

Everything else will bolt straight on provided you got the elbow with the RB25 turbo

The oil line will be the same providing you have a R32 RB20det. R31 redtops dont have ballbearing turbos so they dont have restrictors in the line, but the bb turbos need to be restricted.

ok so i do have the 32 rb20det, so all i will need is the original lines from my turbo now, the rb one, and the elbow/turbo from the 33. is that correct?

yes, though there is the possibility of the water lines being different as rb20's had 2 possible sizes of banjos on the turbo. The r33 turbos all had 24mm headed banjos, r32's could have either 20mm or 24mm from memory.

It's easy enough to check before starting the job, just remove the heat shield and jam a socket on the outside banjo to see what size you have.

Yar. If the 25 turbo does'nt have the elbow you han use the rb20 one, but it will require the 3 bolt hole elongated to make it fit Sounds dodge i know but a mate had it like that for a while and it never leaked.
