i toke my valve cover to polish ....turns out the guy toke it to sand blast before he polish it.....i thought he would only use paint striper to remove the old paint, so i never bother to take the buffle inside the valve cover off before hand....after i got it back and toke it apart, realized there is a metal net inside it and it is covered in SAND and OLD OIL...

it is pretty much impossible to clean out, so i am wondering if that thing is important or can i just leave it out ????

any help would be great.

thanks

i would not leave it out, soak the baffle in thinners then run water through it til your sure it has not got sand in it.

its the main thing reducing the slosh of oil into the rear breather hoses, as there is no drain between the mesh and the breathers

you need to clean them and try before you try to buy a new set. brake clean or thinners or diesel or a hot tank or anything that removes oil residue.

GeeTR - rb26's baffles are screwed in anyway, so no need to grind rivets.
