Hey just wondering if you can decide on which pits youd like to take your car to for inspection??

Apparently Welshpool pits are a little more lenient!!

Problem is i just put coilovers in my 34, and really dont want to put the stock suspension back in, anybody here been over with coilovers in and passed?

Also i dont know how the whole thing works, never taken a car over so a little help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

yeah u can pass pits with coili's just make sure ur car is 10cm off the ground at the lowest point. also u can choose what pits to go to.

um u pretty much rock up at the pits examination place EARLY ( around 8-9am) then u just wait in line till its ur turn to get inspected. also u will have to pay ~$80 for the fee's.

hope this helps.

Hi mate, I brought my car to the pits at Welshpool for compliance. Only just made the 10cm clearance and they were pretty relaxed at inspecting the car. Heard from my mate that they are one of the most lenient around too

Welshpool knows what they are lol...

bring a good amount of $$$...

roll your car on stockies... oh wait, yours has awesome stockies anyway so don't worry...

make sure it has a rear bar

i think you're set to go man as far as i can think of since the last time i saw your car...

make sure the BOV isn't a loud bitch and is plumbed back and umm... the car has to be the lowest (at a minimum) 100mm off the floor with a full tank of fuel and be seated with grown adults to the cars capacity, GT-T - 5 people

if your coilovers are stiff enough it should be alright, if anything then just use some of your $$$ and get a permit on the spot, easy as, you're already there and you'll never get picked on for it ever again

dude, don't worry...

i'm broke as a f*cking corn farmer living in the sahara desert...

trust me, as for permits i have no idea how much it is but i meant bring the cash for the permit down just in case they rape you for the coilovers...

because if they don't like them and you don't get a permit, there's more unnecessary $$$ spent on an extension for the sticker and you don't want that...

end of the day, just try for it... try and get your car as stock and clean as well as tidy as possible, no loud BOV and go for it, should be okay man

let us know what happens (i'm sure you will anyway)

    • CTIS (Central Tire Inflation System) has existed since the 80's. I'm looking into buying a Hummer H1 and they generally included it.
    • My idle is set at 950rpm though - Moving the timing around 20 degrees is not really what I'd call a calm idle. That said... neither is chop, by definition. The LS ECU likes to adjust timing to hold idle as opposed to air. It'd work, but generally speaking there'd be a discrepancy in the base idle and the IACV would want to move the timing around anyway to maintain said idle. I think I'm just going to keep the timing steady anyway. Preserve my engine mounts.  My aircon is now officially regassed. As the guy was reversing I noticed my reverse lights do not operate, along with my reverse cam. This is a bit distressing, because 100% of guides talk about which wire to connect to backup cams as "the goes with the [other color] wire". Often when doing conversions. Unfortunately the R34 colour wires aren't documented Unfortunately I had a T56 Magnum gearbox with it's reverse switch, which also isn't documented. Unfortunately there's definitely not documentation for people with both of these in the one car. Unfortunately I forgot. After many hours of this, I have a reverse cam and reverse lights again. The wire going through the trans tunnel to the reverse switch had broken. Upon inspection, it looks like this one wire had about 7 spade terminals and extensions in it.. for reasons I cannot possibly comprehend. I also spent the 750 hours required to clean up the wiring behind my head unit which now looks like this: This is a monumental improvement relative to what used to be there WRT triple gauges, head unit, traction control, wideband controller, and whatever the f**k OEM stuff still exists there in various states of connectivity/needed. Next step is to check in at the Exhaust shop to see/confirm how much clearance I have, to decide what mid mufflers or 'resonators' (which are just straight through, narrower mufflers) I can add and hopefully cut out a lot of exhaust leaks, pinhole, v-band or otherwise. But first step will be to 'take a look' before the next step.
    • Fark the AFM card and Nistune, Haltech Nexus S3, DBW, cruise control, flex fuel, dis dat.
    • It's most likely the bolt/bush where the cover bolts back wore and allowed cover to move forward.
    • Still haven't put the injectors and R35 AFM in so we can tune the bloody thing for the HG highflow it got mid last year! I think I can forecast the upgrade path to a bigger twin scroll, external gate, Haltech, flex setup, Samsonas, dis dat, etc will be .... a while away!
