my alarms got a inbuilt turbo timer so speaking on personal experience no.

if your using 2 different aftermarket products. the only thing the turbo timer might to is delay the time wen the immobilizer kicks in.

If you get ur immobilizer proffesional installed(which you should, no point risking your car for a few bucks) with the turbo timer, it will have no ill effects whats so ever.

Im running a good alarm (Wont mention brand) and turbo timer, both were installed at the same time.

I can have my turbo timer on for 2 or 3 mins, arm my alarm, and the alarm will activate. If someones breaks into ur car while the turbo timer is on, and tries to drive the car away, the alarm will turn off the turbo timer immediately.

So no, it wont have any effects on ur immobiliser.

However i do recommend you go for a full alarm system rather then just the immobiliser... too many skylines get stolen now a days.

Hope this helps

Brendan

If someones breaks into ur car while the turbo timer is on, and tries to drive the car away, the alarm will turn off the turbo timer immediately.

You will find a properly installed turbo timer will shut down immediately if the handbrake gets removed, or if the brake is applied, these are 2 features that are genuinely associated with the security of a car being timed, so that if someone was to jump into the car and either hit the brakes (usually done when clutch goes in to select gear) or drops the handbrake (again, required to take a car), the timer shuts off.

A decent alarm system should activate, and the turbo timer should be connected in some way to a timed by-pass of the immobilising function of the alarm system for timing down, but not effect the alarm system in it's monitoring of battery drain circuit, vibration monitor, etc.

And if your bothering to install an alarm, make it decent, a $90 'alarm system' from Dick Smith Electronics just WONT cut it, might meet insurance, but anyone with remotely any level of auto-electrical knowledge will bypass the cuts instantly and easily.

B.

i had install the alarm system(Dunno is that good enough or not, Cost-$120) which will immobilize the car when press the lock button recently. Was thinking to install a turbo timer to my car too, which make me free for minutes after i reach my destination. Was thinking to install myself for the turbo timer, since i saw some tutorial is quite easy to install with just plug the hardness.

But since Brenden had said that, dun waste few bucks for the risks, i was 50 50 thinking bring it to pro install. But is that hard or unsafe to apply a turbo timer with current alarm system myself? if someone know the safe ways or safety tutorial to install the turbo timer i'm really appreciate for your help.

    • I'll tell her I put in a new air filter on it, which, it would have anyway with the ITB's In the end she isn't to fussed, she spends lots of money on hair, nails, make-up and all the other "required" beauty products that women use, plus I grease the wheels with shiny gifts and holidays wherever and whenever I can She once questioned my car spending "budget", but after itemising everything she spends on herself, and what I spend on her, and the fact that I don't care if she does or doesn't wear make-up and fancy pants perfume, or requires new outfits for every wedding, funeral or anything else she deems worthy, and I'm quite happy to go "real" camping, instead of staying in hotels or jaunts on cruise ships, she decided not to press the subject on how I spend funds, and has never asked "how much did that cost" again, so a win to me And how often can you say you really get a win with the fairer sex? She is a good woman, and in the big picture, I'm really lucky.....that she hasn't killed me yet

    • Will the clear coat dissolve the ink tho?? I thought about clear vinyl tape too. Thinking what to do haha. The one I have now is cracked in 1 spot, otherwise mint. Plus the MINES one is much thicker plastic material so its not flimsy at all.
    • No. Go a different colour, and just trim it at an edge line. Even manufacturers do different panels different colours etc.
    • I see no real downsides to ITB's, apart from the initial cost of my drive in drive out lifestyle, the "upsides" is they sound cool and would add lots of smiles I am willing to pay to play for the extra smiles I've spent the morning googling and youtubing the BBR ITB's, a "little" extra power and throttle response, but alot more dort, and really, I'm only really in it for the dort Who knows, after all this money is spent I might even make 150kwatw....LOL
