Adriano
I would ask the person who built it. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/221192-got-my-new-turbo-up-and-running-again/#findComment-3899892 Share on other sites
GeeTR
I think you would find it would run out of its efficiency window well before you reach its physical boost limit. Get a wideband up it and find out low / mid 20's Edited May 28, 2008 by GeeTR Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/221192-got-my-new-turbo-up-and-running-again/#findComment-3900151 Share on other sites
candy33
I would say around 18-20psi is a safe bet, but it really depends who built it with what internals etc. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/221192-got-my-new-turbo-up-and-running-again/#findComment-3900157 Share on other sites

Granthem
honestly to kill 6 turbos in how long (probably a couple of years) there MUST be another issue. No small kinks in any oil lines? Man, if i kill one im gonna cry, 6 and i would have given up and bought a v8 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/221192-got-my-new-turbo-up-and-running-again/#findComment-3900895 Share on other sites

eddieeeee-ro
what turbo? ive got a gcg highflow and so does my mate, good to around 16-17psi Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/221192-got-my-new-turbo-up-and-running-again/#findComment-3901570 Share on other sites
stolen_s15
No point in running more than 16-18psi or the turbo will be outside its efficiency. You could run it into the 20's if you want but all it will do is create excess heat and stress the turbo. sloutch
You have warranty on this new turbo? Post up some dyno charts when you have them. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/221192-got-my-new-turbo-up-and-running-again/#findComment-3901627 Share on other sites
R31Nismoid
Turbo's never carry warranty. I still suspect oil supply/pressure problems... 6 turbos is a sign of oil hands down But as for its efficiency and how much boost, look @ the compressor map Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/221192-got-my-new-turbo-up-and-running-again/#findComment-3902006 Share on other sites

Guess i'm wrong. I think Pete ( Bass Junky ) has one of those on his 34 and he made 270rwkw on it with 17psi? Can't remember. r32woohoo
GCG does provide a 12 month warranty on highflows Thats what it says on my receipt Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/221192-got-my-new-turbo-up-and-running-again/#findComment-3902203 Share on other sites
R31Nismoid
Warranty on their work, ie the machining, balancing and new cartridge If the turbo fails due to you not providing enough oil pressure, you letting foreign objects into the compressor side etc. You'll see how long that warranty doesn't last I have not heard of one turbo being fixed under warranty from Garrett, or any other turbo distributor if the problem is not made by them. I mean, why should they? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/221192-got-my-new-turbo-up-and-running-again/#findComment-3902218 Share on other sites
