oh and I think the new JJR bellmouth uses a 9mm flange

I just measured my new R33 GTST bellmouth dump/front that I got from JJR (yet to fit however) and the flanges are indeed 9mm thick at both the cat side and at the turbo side.

Hoping to fit in the next week or so. Hope this helps.

P.S speak with Darron @ JJR next time .... he can confirm fitment for S1 and S2 Stagea- they also list the application specifically for Stagea on their website.

I spoke to someone from JJR - not sure if it was Darron ..

but from what DarrinSpencer said it *should* fit - fingers crossed!

YOU WILL NEED MORE THAN YOUR FINGER`S CROSSED
well a bit of bashing and a bit of grinding perhaps?s

what is the point of doing that just cut & reweld it`s quicker ,& you are going to TAKE HAMMER TO YOUR CAR  ,it dose not fit ,cheer`s chuckie.

aah.. the wonders of internet forums - one good and one bad in the space of not long at all
OK not sure what`s ment sean but they do not fit you will have a hard jod getting it to fit unless you cut it do think i would have gone to this if it would have fitted as i said if you want to see then call i will come & you can have a look your selfcheer`s chuckie.

well chuckie I am just making the best guess possible without actually being able to SEE one

and I beleive that JJR have changed the design slightly recently -

and I dont really wanna spend $500 on a dump pipe - and others on this thread have said it WILL fit - so - just taking a gamble I suppose- but thanks for the advice.

thats what I was thinking !! and thats what chuckie did- though he cut and rewelded

if its radically off I will just post it back!

nobody seems to have a definative selection from Just Jap - though darrinspencer seems to think it will work

if you have issues, cant you just rebend a little of it in a madrel-bender at an exhaust shop?

sean ring me i will come & you can have a look for yourself ,cheer`s chuckie.

oh well - just ordered the Just Jap Stagea Listed bellmouth dump - I supplied them with dimensions etc and they argree that it shoudl fit - and if not they will rectify.

coupled with a bigger cat should make a good chage!

See my previous posts 8, 11 & 22.

The JJR bellmouth front pipe was fitted to my Series 2 together with the Xforce 3inch hiflow cat.

I can now confirm NO problems at all with these fitting Series 2. No hitting of any components anywhere.

Only small hitch was one of the centre holes (there are 6 in total) near the front pipe turbo flange, needed the spanner filed down a bit b/c the there was not enough room to put the nut on and tighten it up (manufacturing tolerance?).

These seem to be an X-force copy.

The exhaust shop used my original turbo gasket as it was in good condition.

Car feels much nicer to drive now with boost building quicker and additional mid-range torque.

Intersting, cheers for that :)

Ok - NEWS FLASH

the dump pipe and cat are now fitted- I eventually ended up getting the Just Jap Stagea one- I suspect its the same one they use for the r33-

Pros and cons....

pro - does not foul on anything- was a pretty direct fit- seems to have cleared out a bit of the restriction - its early days yet and I have not really had a chance to get the thing tested out fully..

cons- the angle that the cat sits on when its all bolted up is wrong- instead of the belly of the cat sitting parallel to the road surface - it was a bit " down hill " and on a twist - ie not parallel to road surface..

long story short? I got the cat modified so the flanges are correct so it now sits in the right orientation

I am going to feed this info back to just jap and see if they can modify it slightly to be 100% perfect.

Sorry to bring this back up, but I have a 2000 S2 Stagea and am thinking of getting the JJR Bellmouth 3" front/dump pipe mated with the 3" xforce hi-flow cat... So it's a direct fit with no buggering around now? Even with the skewed cat?

    • Actually PowerFC is probably the easiest to get basic data from, it comes with a hand controller and display so you don't need to remember to pack a laptop every time you drive. It also has a PC based viewing/logging option if required. Nissan used consult on these because back in the mid 80s, ODB was just a glint in a standard's body's eyes.  They switched to OBD shape around 2000 (my 2001 Cima had OBD shaped but not OBD compliant port) With the standard ECU there is a cable and software available to give basic data too, I think it is called Nissan Data Scan or s
    • Given by the sheer number of questions about offset, absolutely not. If you had the information formatted this way: Space from R34 GTT hub to outer arch = 100mm Space from R34 GTT inner hub to nearest suspension arm = 90mm. (making this up) Buying a wheel that was advertised as Enkei RPZ5 Diameter 18in Width 9 Distance to arch = 84mm Distance to suspension arm = 76mm 100% of people would know instantly if it fits. They would absolutely also know instantly how close it fits too, and no questions would need to be asked. You would know you would have 16mm from the guard and 14mm from the suspension arm.
    • Ah ok, for example for the apexi ecu I heard that it's pretty limited with the information it can give you. Also not sure why Nissan used the consult port over the obd2, what the idea there was.
    • Diagnosing with and without is mostly the same. You need to know, as Duncan asked, and what conditions. Car hot, cold, idling, driving, if while driving what rpms, is when you're varying, or is it when held constant.   From there it's understanding what can be causing it. Starting with pretending all of the sensors are correct. Which means if it's going rich, why would it be thinking more air is going in than it is, and under what conditions. So things like if only when under boost, it could be be a loose intake piping joint. It's just understanding the system, and understanding when/how the problem occurs, and then if it's only occuring in specific scenarios, what can be causing it.   ECU specifically, if it's aftermarket, it'll have software you can use, for the Skylines on factory ECU, there is Nissan Consult you can use. Most ECUs have a way to get data from them.
