R34 Snow Mode Button

My n/a R34, under steering wheel it has a switch to flick to 'snow' mode. stpid soundin question butwhat does this actually change the car to do? i have used it but havent noticed a difference at all with anything.

controls your revs/gears so you dont break traction in the snow/wet or something like that i think.

I've driven an Astra with it, and it pretty much removes any/all power making it pretty much impossible to lose traction etc...

car is auto right?

im pretty sure all it does is make the car take off in 2nd gear instead of 1st. less chance of wheel spin in the "snow"

Yeah, thats what it is for.

Snow mode disables 1st gear, so you start from 2nd, in other words you take off really slow.

My auto R33 has this as well, also a power mode.

i got a tcs on/off buttom there instead in my auto...

had the snow button on my old r33 though, i think all n/a auto skylines have it

Since auto's have the snow button, does that mean in a manual, you just start in 2nd gear to have the same effect?..

Probably a good idea. I can definately start my car from a stand still in second. Dont imagine it any different for any other line.

Just starts the car off rather slowly. So in conditions like ice or snow its ideal. Also if you're on a steep hill on a rainy day, may help also.

Yea, I can aswell, but I'm just wondering if it's the right thing to do, without killing the car
