GeeTR
The age and of condition of the sensor plays a role i think, though i try and keep it all relative. If your used to seeing 15/20 and recently it through a 60, then id 100% look into it. (assuming this figure wasn't at gear change or something) I reckon you shud set the warning to go off at 40 too; in a mates car, I could hear knock before the check light came up (was set at 60) You haven't mentioned what the motor was doing when it flashed 60. and3_3
Ive got a question for the difference with knock levels. Some times when im driving casually using 12 psi not flooring at all ive had knock levels up 125 and no noise or difference what so ever in the engine. Other times ive had back fire and knock levels up to 100 or so. craig R33
same here, mine rarely sees >20. but when its on the limiter in 2nd gear, it can sometimes hit 120. i have mine set at 60 aswell, sometimes i dont even hear the knock if it goes over. might set it to 50 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/221738-knock-levels/#findComment-3910091 Share on other sites
stolen_s15
I'm in the same boat as you guys, never really goes above 25 except for when i tag/bounce off the limiter. Does anyone know if this is an accurate reading that I should be worried about? Or is the sensor picking up other sounds? Sinful
Mine can sit anywhere from 12 up to 22..it only hits high readings when I might of gone over a bump or a rock has hit the sump while driving or when something is wrong like one of my boost vaccum lines coming off and was running unlimited Gee it felt awesome but need to be sensable Not good when you guys are hitting high reading when on the limiter...and shouldn't be hit limiter too much either it causes damage Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/221738-knock-levels/#findComment-3910870 Share on other sites
