Strange Factory Wiring Things

Just a quick question. Does any one know what the two little boxes with wires coming out of them in a R33 GTST engine bay are for? They are positioned in the top left and top right part of the engine bay, one is black, one is brown. What do they do?

The brown one is for the windshield wipers. Not sure exactly what it does but its called a windshield wiper amplifier. Possibly controls the different speeds.

correct it controlls the intermediate speed and the slow and fast speed.if you unplug it you will lose the intermediate control all together but on the slow and fast speeds youl be able to turn the wipers off and they will stop exactly where u turned them off they wont return to the bottom part of the windscreen

im talking about the brown box by the way lol
