Im playing around with the Boost controller on my R33 and one day im getting backfires, surges, misses , you name it, as soon as i put the hamer down.

Turn the boost back and then it only surges a little, but goes much better.

Is this boost Cut-off and if so how does it work?

Also i notice, the more your drive it or the warmer it gets, the problem is more noticeable, i guess thats heat soak?

I had the same problem Robo. I was running 12 psi but not hitting the fuel cut. But the power would surge then drop off a couple of times before I hit the red line. This would only happen when the car had been driven for a while. My mechanic put colder plugs in which improved the problem but didn't fix it completely. I dropped the boost down to between 10 and 11 psi and now it goes like a dream.

    • Either way he still need those style of spacer to go into the manifold because the photo he currently has is not going to work
    • You can just get the injector bosses, which allows top feeds to fit. He can use the same injectors without issue, like these (another option): https://rocketindustries.com.au/af59-2210-rb25-fuel-injector-inserts     The Racework ones look a bit better: https://www.nzefi.com/product/raceworks-lower-injector-mounting-boss-kit-for-r33-rb25det-s14-s15-sr20det/   You could also just get a similar kit like the Radium one by Plazmaman: https://plazmaman.com/product/nissan-rb25det-r33-billet-fuel-rail/?srsltid=AfmBOoogfYq49X0fu2Wdbf8yOf6zt9egyPAif_gn3Qr3G8hzAphhTgOkO70
    • You need the kit turbo taipan has shown you because that manifold ia designed have side feed injectors
    • @johnnysr22 did you end up installing the little screen thingy and did it work ?>
    • There is a LOT of stuff that can be done, it all depends on how much time and money you want to spend on doing in.  Not all ECUs will be able to do it, and the more control you need the more time and knowledge needs to be put into making it work.  If you're willing to spend the time and money and have the right hardware and skills involved there's a lot that can be done.
