THR34T
Hey all, One of my headlights recently blew the other day, they are the stock r34 xenons, yesterday i opened up the headlight so i could replace the bulb but when i opened it i had seen that its not a normal bulb you just unclip and take out. its a long thin bulb with magnesium strips in it. does anyone know if they have the same type of bulb in? the headlight has no socket for a bulb it just has 2 wires going into the bottom of the bulb in there. i checked the other side and its exactly the same. does anyone know where i can get the headlight changed? Thanks Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/221800-r34-headlight-bulb/ Share on other sites
chook
D2R is the bulb type, much cheaper on ebay from US than buying here, stock white bulb colour is around 4500k, higher is bluer, lower is yellower. adam-__-
You would be able to get them through Autobahn, not sure on price. Can you get a picture up of the plug to the globe? I have a feeling that the compliance company changed it over to take halogen globes, but the previous owner threw in those cheap HID kits. Not genuine R34 HID globes, therefore not being D2R (or what ever it really is). Duncan
exactly. xenons must be removed at compliance so they were either put back or it is an aftermarket kit Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/221800-r34-headlight-bulb/#findComment-3910354 Share on other sites
jrm
how much do they cost? and where abouts from australia can you get them from apart from Ebay? i think mine is either 6000k or 8000k its blue and there pretty bright but not sure lol. does it matter which one i get or do i have to get an exact one? Also keep in mind you're best replacing both of them - as they do sorta change color over the life of the bulb and if you only replace one you can end up with slightly different shades/colours in the light (at least in my experience) Jenna Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/221800-r34-headlight-bulb/#findComment-3912002 Share on other sites
