btw been thinking about that flux capacitor mounting...I think we need to add an air bleed at the highest point like the radiator system has....shame that will be sticking out the bonnet with the current setup

haha hi lofty. are you loosing sleep about having to race against this car one day

he's probably worried about bits of shrapnel coming his way if it blows up alongside him.....

i kid. i kid... i'm sure it'll be fine... :merli:

Ill get you a few photos duncan.

Yep Chris, I went to bens place for a few minor bits and it was easier to bring the entire car home with me.

It will be an updated version of my current car with more coin thrown at it.

Im doing a cage similar to duncan and marks but a bit more comprehensive and another Dry sump etc etc etc.

Reading about GTR sumps................does anyone want a Gibson baffled and winged sump? No longer used on the BSM GTR due to dry sumping for Sports Sedans. Has external fittings, head drain back etc, pick up, all the good stuff for a 100% reliable circuit GTR wet sump. I'll pop over to the For Sales section and post it up tommorow.

Cheers

Gary

You and Stevo can get custom bonnets together. LOL

It sure does look good though, do you have an approximate finish date. I would love to see it at EC on the 23rd of Nov.

Your a funny guy,,,November,,,which bloody year.

Let me get my head around Raceworx schedule. We have to build Duncans engine,,,finish off his front end,,,play with his rear end and whatever else has to be done. This will all be done in the heat of summer. I was called a bludger on Sunday but did anybody you look at the days temps,,,KISS IT BOSS,,,THE STAFF WENT ON STRIKE. It was bloody hot and it only gets worse from here on in. In the mean time we have to get a gassed up GTR going,,,play more with the nugget and maybe even start on Marky's targa car.

Ah life sweet and easy sometimes.

At least my cars still going,,,which will,,,by the way need Marky to help me put headlights in very very soon.

Oh I did mention I'm getting too old for this shit,,,I think I have many times.

Love as always

Neil.

you and your full Pm box!!!!

Dunc,

How are you gonna run the piping into and out of the Flux capasitor....from what I can see its gonna be a bloody tight bend into the intake manifold and are you gonna run the hot side piping over the radiator?

BTW loving the big brakes in the 17"s

Zebra,

The pics are deceptive, the outlet from the intercooler is basically in the same spot as the standard one, just higher up. We could cut down a standard intercooler pipe and it would fit, except that the intercooler fitting is 3" so too big.

Hey Mark and Duncan getting there, and tell me you are not running shinny hard crack for sure manifolds on a race car??

Giant runs stock cast, NO CRACK, manfiolds with no probs and makes big power. Factory manifolds are not a bad design unlike the zeds. Ported and extrude honed even better, although can't get any more I may have one set left.

ahaha I think you've got the schedule right Neil. pretty sure there are 2 cages to be done in the next few weeks too. ya bludger.

Zebra, thanks to my 1337 paint skillz, here is the cooler piping - nice and short, about 1/3 standard length.

John....yep they are genuine guaranteed to crack crappy chinese manifolds. turbos weren't going to fit in standard location and don't have standard flanges either. so we figured it was better to chop up these pretty chinda manifolds.

What we didn't see coming was how uneven the flanges were - can't be used until we machine the surface flat.

BTW how is our subframe coming along? do we get to bolt shiney bits on the rear this long weekend?

No we don't get to put anymore shiny bits on the bloody nugget. We get to push the nugget out of the way and get either your GTR worked on or Marks roady worked or even both.

The foreman has spoken.

    • Only needed to pull out the seats, center console and gear shifter surround, took a weekend and a fair few beers. You get to look forward to finding all sorts of weird shit under the seats and carpet, I pulled out a Chinese dudes passport from 2003, 220 yen and a condom wrapper 😆
    • Well, turns out not a lot happened from back then to now, between life again, and working on 3 separate other cars (only one of which was mine, and will now be departing the household soon).   So I decided with the whole "don't go outside, it's a cyclone!" Turning in to being not a whole lot, I ventured down to the garage, found a couple of water leaks in the shed (the main one I've already fixed), and then ended up "stuck" as it started pouring rain, and I didn't want to walk back inside in the pouring rain. This meant I ended up taking a look at the Skyline, and trying to work out what past Matt had been upto. I retraced a few things out from scratch, added the rest of the power feeds in that I needed for the indicators, and headlights. Double checked I'd wired a few things up correctly (and worked out how I wired a few things to begin with), updated my sparse notes. Added one of the ground points. Oh, and got really really dusty, as the car is quite dirty. Wrote up quickly what should be left for me to do with the wiring too. Adding the below photos more for my records than anything else. I need to make myself a proper book for the car that details everything, and how I've done it, but for now, this is my records... The third image is my most important one for me, and I need to draw it out into a proper schematic eventually. The last photo is my re-written list, I'd have put it on the white board, except I had to take the white board down to fix one of the water leaks.
