Hey, just got my car back from getting a new clutch and found it to be gutless.. i've had this happen before ages ago i changed the afm's and the coilpacks and did a few other things but cant remember which fixed it

Anyway someone told me the other day that i'll need a remap to get the 33 gtr afm's working properly, can anyone verify this? guy i bought em off said they'd be fine.. i have noticed it's a bit hesitant before it warms up

I don't think it can be anything spark related as nothing has been changed and it's not stuttering or anything at all.. if my afm's weren't working properly (my old ones weren't) then it probably wouldnt run right at all whereas it runs fine.. it's like it's only running 5 psi or something (i got it at 10)

I cant take it to a mech till i have 1000 km's on the clutch but i'll never wanna drive it as it is now hehe

So what can i try?

I Don't see point in regapping plugs (as they worked fine)

Ditto with checking the packs (as they worked fine)

The AFM's are off a 33.. but they did work fine.. but they could have a connection prob?

Has no boost or zorst leaks..

Doubt it's the clutch because it's not slipping and i cant see why it would be slower (old one was slipping..)

Could it randomly be ecu related?

I too was of the belief all GTR AFM's are the same. When was the car last running Ok, why did you change AFM's, what else could have changed that could have caused the doughyness?? Sure its the "tune" and not retarded CAS timing or etc?

Clean the AFM plugs, reset ECU, check timing, check spark plugs etc.

ah ok but the AFM's arent hugely different.. so they shouldn't be a big problem

I dont think it is the CAS timing, it was running fine up until a few days ago and as it's all bolted up tight i doubt it's moved or changed in any way.. will check it, it still has the marks from when i changed the idler/tensioners.

I changed the AFM's because one of my old ones was shot (it'd cut out sometimes randomly) I remember when i changed it it seemed to gain more power.. but then i remember it losing the power for a while too

I'll regap my plugs to .8 tonight just incase it helps.. confusing as though, i have no idea what the problem is and have checked everywhere i can think of to look

One other thing, how much should i twist the CAS clockwise/anticlockwise to adjust the timing a few degrees? is 1 or 2 mil alot? Because i'll try that and see whether it helps

thx for the help
