Towbar for R34 ?

This probably sounds quite un-cool to some of you, but is there a towbar available for an R34 Skyline? The underside of the R34 looks to be quite similar to the Australian Maxima. Maybe they are interchangeable?

I thought it may have been a drama getting a towbar for an import car like this, as the Japs don't really do the "trailer" thing.

No, Hayman Reese dont have towbars for any Skylines other than the Australian built models. They dont even have one from another vehicle, that looks remotely like it would fit on an R34.

For imported models, the towbar has to be custom made.

On the RHS there is a suitable attachment point using the shipping tie down point, but the LHS is another story. There is a fair amount of work to keep the steel work out of sight and away from the exhaust but it is worth the effort.

The end product has an 850kg rating, which is plenty considering that the bikes are only about 40 kg.

I found that the wiring for the trailer socket will splice directly into the car wiring and drive the trailer lights, without loading down the circuit.
