hey guys ive done a search and found heaps of info on dead n1 pumps and using jun/tomei pumps etc but im just interested at what power levels would i need to upgrade the stock gtr oil pump? i know the n1 pump is worth bugger all but they are like russian roulette and im doing a budget build if i can as its a spare engine, im gonna try and avoid having to upgrade the pump if i can.

so what power levels can i safely run with a stock gtr pump on a rb26? and if i went for a 26 head with rb30 bottom end would i be able to make more power with the gtr oil pump safely? how much with the 30?

sorry if this has been asked before, any links to relevant threads appreciated, or any info on the subject even better

RB26 Stock pumps are good..if new...up to 330kwsATW

N1 pumps are only a little bit better..though some say they shit themself above 370kwsATW.

The figures above are only estimates....type of driving you do,frequency of oil changes and conditions

play a big role in longevity of these two pumps.

Jun,Tomie and other oil pumps are made tough to handle above these figures reliably...but also cost 3 times the price.
