Hi folks, im new here, and trying solve a problem. doing auto to manual gearbox conversion on R33 '96 rb25 GTS. I have installed already clutch pedal, clutch system with clutch , and half installed gearbox. ( I doing it on my yard, car is on jacks). I cant manage gearbox go in to it properly . Gearbox is stuck, i mean i cant push gearbox shaft in to clutch, and there is no room to manage that gearbox. What is the proper way to install that ? maybe have to turn kind way, or what. And do i have to remove exhaust ?

Cheers

Maris

have you used a clutch alignment tool to centre the clutch in the middle of the flywheel ? or else it will not go into the splines, also try putting it in gear and using the tail shaft to turn it over to help you line it up

cheers.

also - while we are asking these questions, did you put a spigot bish in the end of the crank? I think there is either no bush or some sort of steel bush in auto cranks.

as well as that and clutch aligning tool, you need to make sure the engine and gearbox are at the same angle/tilt. then they pretty much pop right in

the auto's do have a different bush in the end of the crank compaired to the manual so youll have to look at that 1st then just turn the gear on its side so the starter moter bulge doesnt hit the tunnel then once in jsut rotate to box back around
