It was supposed to be a normal day in Akihabara but it was anything but.

Normally on weekends they close the streets off to traffic and let shoppers roam around but some f**king nutjob lost it completely and drove a 2 tonne truck right into the crowded street running over 3 people and hitting several others.

As if that wasnt crazy enough, the guy stops, gets out of his car and starts stabbing random people with a kitchen knife killing 4 others.

Its the craziest thing thats ever happened in Akiba and i was in Akiba today before all this happened.

Scary shit i can tell you now.

I also work right near that intersection so this has really hit close to home...i use that intersection all the time...

When a Japanese person loses it, they really lose it in a big way...

thats my general opinion of japan...they live extremes...very conservative and all but absolute crazy when they go postal. seems like they take alot in regards to work with all the heirachy thing bottle it up and bam they explode. where as in most western worlds people just dont take too much crap from seniors and tell them to shove it when theyre sick of it.

shame about the 4 innocent people though.

doesnt suprise me.. lets talk about the guy who cut up the lady?(or maybe girl, cant remember) and flushed her down his toilet recently .. .. ..

Most crimes in Japan are due to foreigners... I suspect he is of Korean or Chinese ancestry or possibly he was a US Marine.

for those of you not familiar with Akihabara, it's a huge electronics district, imagine a place like Times Square like 15-20 streets and blocks, and on Sunday's they close the streets to cars so it fills with pedestrians, except for that one wide street where the truck came from, it's the main drag

looks like when he got out of the truck he proceeded down the alley ways

I was just on some japanese forums and i guess there are tons of cell phone pics and vids, especially since its the "nerd" capital of Japan. Apparently, it all happened in a matter of seconds. He just sped up, turned into the closed off street, hit a bunch of people, then jumped out with the knife and started stabbing at random, then took off down an alley way and kept stabbing people, in less then a minute cops had already drawn guns on him and he dropped the knife.

If not one of those two he could have been Ainu. They are savages, they worship bears!

Dude, sif you go around making generalisations like that...

1000 yen says hes a Japanese.

Akeenan and I, through a linguistic device commonly referred to as irony, are attempting to highlight certain less than desirable conclusions that some residents of this country may summarily reach.

You will find that 99% of my posts are like that. Taking me literally is a bad mistake. :P

He"s Japanese..Koreans and Chinese do all the dodgy stuff like sly ketais for the Yakuza...mind you the Koreans are way ahead of the Chinese in the black trade, alot of them have clubs plus their mafia group is run pretty well. They've been doing business with the Yakuza for along time.

We recently had a Nepalese go nuclear up here in Niseko ,Hokkaido.. bashed his japanese wifes head in with a hammer, then threw his 6 month old baby in the river.

Although this nutter in Akiharaba has made world headlines , the japanese are daily topping themselves off and usually a week doesnt go by that someone gets murdered, just watch and read the japanese news. It aint as safe as its cracked up as but pretty damn safe compared to Oz.

OF COURSE HE IS JAPANESE!

But here is the simple version. To the average tabloid reading Japanese housewife/businessman CRIME = GAIJIN. I have had students that could not even accept the concept that a Japanese person could lie!

The same moronic attitude exists in Australia. I guess I just notice it here more because I am foreign.

lol, some serious sarcasm meter failure in this thread. it's obvious the guy is japanese. they are just having a crack at the japanese attitude that outsiders=root of all problems. surprisingly enough, despite what many japanese people may think, they are just as capabable of theft, or assault, on in this case wild, irrational murder.

still very sad that radmon acts of violence like this occur anywhere in the world. there are some poor, sick weak minded individuals out there.

beer baron nail on the head there champ!

elrodeo for someone claiming to have spent many many years in Japan (or am I confusing you with someone else) I thought you would / should have gotten the goma suri there . . .

m3tgr Im dissappointed in you too

laurence it is true you are foreign

    • Hi guys, has anyone either purchased or built themselves a rotisserie for their car before? I can only just justify the need for one hence why I should just make one but at the same time, if I make one I can kiss another 4 weeks of potentially productive car working time goodbye because I'm building a bloody rotisserie....  I mainly want it for the application of the body deadener.  Cleaning the old stuff off, priming and then colour over the deadener doesn't worry me, it's just the application using the Schutz Gun that I feel would achieve a significantly better finish painting it side on and keeping the Schutz Gun upright.  I don't think they would work well on the side let alone almost upside down for some areas.  If the product I use (Terosun, etc) could work through a HVLP ok then it might be ok to apply without the rotisserie.   I can get one of these style ones for about $1200 which is pretty good value-     I reckon if I made one it would cost around $500 but it's more the time that it would take is more of a killer than the cost.  They look to hold their value pretty well second hand so I could always sell it after using it and realistically only lose $200-$300 at worst.  Or keep it and buy another project when this one finally sees the light of day... Anyone selling one...? Cheers!
    • While it is a very nice idea to put card style AFMs into the charge pipe (post intercooler, obviously), the position of the AFM and the recirc valve relative to each other starts to become something that you really have to consider. The situation: The stock AFM is located upstream the turbo, and the recirc valve return is located between the AFM and the turbo inlet, aimed at the turbo inlet, so that it flows away from and not through the AFM. Thus, once metered air is not metered again, neither flowing forwards, or backwards, when vented out of the charge pipe. When you put the AFM between the turbo outlet and the TB, there is a volume of pressurised charge pipe upstream of the AFM and there is a volume of pressurised pipe downstream of the AFM. When the recirc valve opens and vents the charge pipe, air is going to flow from both ends of the charge pipe towards the recirc valve. If the recirc valve is in the stock location, then the section between it and the TB doesn't really matter here - you're not going to try to put the AFM in that piece of pipe. But the AFM will likely be somewhere between the intercooler and the recirc valve, So the entire charge pipe volume from that position (upstream of the AFM, back through the intercooler, to the turbo outlet) is going to flow through the AFM, get registered as combustion air, cause the ECU to fuel for it, but get dumped out of the recirc valve and you will end up with a typical BOV related rich spike. So ideally you want to put the AFM as close to the TB as possible (so, just upstream of the crossover pipe, assuming that the stock crossover is still in use, or, just before the TB if an FFP is being used) and locate the recirc valve at the turbo outlet. Recirc valve at the turbo outlet is the new normal for things like EFRs anyway. In the even of a recirc valve opening dumping all the air in the charge pipe, pretty much all of it is going to go backwards, from the TB to the recirc valve near the turbo outlet. But only a small portion of it (that between the TB and the AFM) will pass through the AFM, and it will pass through going backwards. The card style AFMs are somewhat more immune to reading flow that passes through them in reverse than older AFMs are, so you should absolutely minimise the rich pulse behaviour associated with the unavoidable outcome of having both a recirc valve and an AFM in the charge pipe.
    • Yep, in my case as soon as I started hearing weird noises I backed off the tension until it sounded normal again. Delicate balance between enough tension to avoid that cold start slip and too much damaging things.
    • I'm almost at a point where I feel like changing the alternator. Need to check the stuff you mentioned first though.
