Vehicle Registration...

Well yes. If you've got illegal mods and you don't feel like changing them back to stock and/or minor problems such as oil leaks and don't want to fix them for a RWC then it's a wise move to keep the car registered. I had my car registered for 1.5 years when it barely saw sunlight and sat in a garage.

Thanks for your comments buddy... yeah, I feel the same... presenting my vehicle for a RWC is not an option. :D

As what justin911 state... you have 3 months to re-register you car before it gets de-registered. From that point, all you need to have your vehicle registered is to have a RWC. You dont need to book an inspection time with vicroads as you were the previous owner at time of the vehicle being de-registered and also the current owner at the time of having the vehicle registered. Basically turn up at any vicroads when your ready ... show them the RWC, pay your rego fee and its all done...

Thanks mate... yeah, I'm only in financial strife now as I bought a $3K bed and a $670 matress plus some other homewares stuff that the wife picked out... lol ... 2 more month is sex for me... I'll be fine then... at least, like you say, I still can get it re-registered subject to a RWC, but that'll just be a hassle... once again, thanks mate!

Do you think I'll have to call vicroads to arrange this?

during the year, take all the loose change you get whenever you buy things, and put them in a jar. When it comes time to pay for rego/inusurance, knock that jar over and start counting.

I usually end up with around $800 at least, by mid year, in change.

+1 - great idea! But only one problem - we had a jar like that too - it was opened up for the lounge! Never knew buying new home and having to furnish it would cost so bloody much! :D

Shit mate you must be cutting it fine, how will you cope after another interest rate rise or 5 ?.

Yeah mate, I'm coping it fine at the moment... but this is only due to the amount of furniture and housewares that we've bought over the last few months... once this folds over, I'll be fine... interest rate will jack my mortgage up by around $300, so I'm not phrased...

But yeah, it just shows, you can never earn enough for life... hahaha :D

You can give vicroads a call but not necessary. My cousins mate left his car sitting in the front yard for about 14-15months, when he was ready he gave em a call to book a time and got told just to come in anytime as no inspection required
