Changing Rear Cradle

In the next few days i will be changing my rear cradle in my r34 to an r33 one. Is there anything i should look out for?.

I am just changing the cradle, not the diff or the hubs.

I would think that using the same part would generally be a good start.

I don't really know anything about fitting an R33 subframe into an R34.

i've dropped a na r33 rear craddle with the diff, brakes etc still connected and slotted in a whole r33 gtst set up, piece of piss and took less than an hour.

I would recommend dropping the whole rear cradle, then wheel it out from under the car then undo the diff etc from it, then swap it onto the new cradle and put the whole thing back in as one peice. Although like mentioned above, i wouldnt of thought a r33 cradle would fit in a r34??

well luck turns out i was able to get my hands on an r34 one so that parts all good. i have just started undoing bolts and it doesnt seem like too hard of a job.

2 things I can think of - easiest way would be to keep the driveshafts, diffs etc in the new cradle and not put your old ones back. and be careful and use a good jack, these hings are very heavy.

Approx how much does the rear diff assembly weigh? and also the cradle assembly?

when i took it out, i didnt weigh it but i would say 25 - 35 kg with just the diff in it.
