I was interested until i saw the price!

That is way too expensive mate, i can get the same part from grenline, checker flag or ooparts for almost $200 less than that price including insurance, shipping, duty etc etc..... That goes for the Trust item you are tyring to sell and any others such as Tomei, HKS, etc....

I am sorry about hijacking your thread, but i was genuinely interested as i have a frined who is looking for one at the moment, but for your price, no chance!

If you can get it for $200 less, I'd buy a truckload of em ASAP coz I'm selling now selling it for less than what I paid for it.

I'd genuinely like to see a quote from anyone who will give you a brand new Trust 1.2mm metal head gasket for $430.

That headgasket is 36000 YEN in Japan...

...so i would love to know how you can get it for $430 including delivery, insurance and duties.

You well know that if you had to import that headgasket legitimately (including duties) it would cost you more tha $630.

Goto ooparts international inc. and re-check your price.... you will be pleasantly surprised....

$480 will get you a TOMEI 1.0 or 1.2 mm headgasket through the books including all shipping and taxes......PLUS Tomei are arguably the best in the business

I took your advice and looked up the ooparts website.

This trust headgasket is 39000 YEN on their site.

At the exchange rate of 75 YEN per dollar, that translates to over $500 in Japan.

Now, you'll have to explain how you figure you can get it landed here including the duties for $480.

Easy! You pay someone $480 to go steal one! Complete cost is only $480, including taxes and shipping (if you go pick him up).

Man, Leewah your price is awsome. Any one running massive boost, you should think about lowering your compression with this

Standard compression on a RB26 is 8.5.

With this head gasket, it change the compression to about 8.3.

These are top of the line head gaskets and this one is unused. I decided I didn't need it after I bought it.

If you want to debate the price do NOT do it in the thread. Leewah is offering the part for $630. If you feel that the price is unfair you are welcome to pm him rather than tainting his thread for any other potential buyers.

      Excuse me, but 2) does apply 1) Would also apply if you consider how much is spent in the alternatives. Also there's the option of 3), buy one pre-built that you can put your family in (it's me, it's my car)   That said, I went on a ~500km drive the other day. I didn't use anything more adventurous than 3rd/4th gear at about ~3000RPM and 50% throttle and I was going as fast as anyone has any sense doing on a public road, with enough grip to the point where I didn't want to go any faster. I was obviously under the limit of the current car etc etc. MX5 with 2.5 N/A to achieve the same speed would be more fun for any road scenario. Maybe consider cams. I wouldn't boost it. The use case is just not there and it won't actually make the car more enjoyable unless you really do plan on wringing gears from 1st to 3rd (at least) at 100% WOT on a public road to 150+kmh.

Lived in a country where you could actually do this and drive it legally on the road Sadly, neither applies to me As for the turbo, I am having second thoughts, mainly for engineering/registration legality reasons and insurance  Not saying I've finished doing stupid things that I probably should do to the MX5, but boost, and V8 engine swaps isn't on the cards Strange, but true

      Yes shipping here can be a pain, was about to purchase timing belt replacement kit, but it tends to get expensive due to shipping (and customs if importing from non-EU which the UK now falls under).
