NOPE!!! and its still driving me crazy... i am going to do the hose trick real soon tho. It seems to be getting worse 2 i think, previously i thought it was only when i was driving in rain, but now if the car is just sat outside in heavy rain it gets drenched in the drivers foot well... im def going to pull apart those bits near the wipers see if i can see anything there, as being scared to drive just cause it might rain is getting ridiculous!

Hey guys. Have you found leaks yet?

Okay well i decided that i would really give this another crack this weekend because its such a pain in the ass problem and could cause some bad damage if left unchecked.

So with the help of my chick i pulled the drivers seat out and pulled up the carpet so i could get right in under the foot well with the door closed. Got her to operate the hose and low and behold the water is still coming in through where cables are going through the fire wall... which is so bloody annoying because i have seriously siliconed the crap out of that area twice... but obviously thats where the water was getting in so i had to keep trying. Bought some more silicone and kept applying... still unsure if it will let water in again because i needed to wait for the silicon to dry before watering the car again. I guess i will just keep siliconing it until no water gets in... such a massive pain tho.

you might find that the silicone isn't sticking to the rubber bung as some time the bung has a oil coating on them.

+1, sounds like the rubber seal needs to be stripped back to scratch, washed with rubber friendly degreaser or "silicone prep juice" & then try some SIKAFLEX perhaps. May even need to be worked into the strands of the wiring loom. Messy procedure. Else search for entry point for water to get into the loom in the first instance, reroute loom to make low point for water to drop out, rather than run downhill into the cabin area? Sounds like a real pain in any event.

here's my experiences and ideas.

I had a fair amount of water in the floor of the car a few months ago, turns out it was because the gutters at the base of the windscreen couldn't handle the amount of water. The car was parked under the gutter of the carport, and it was copping extra water from there. I took of the inner guard and poured some water down the windscreen. Behind the inner guard you can see where the water drains down, but if the front of the car is higher than the back or you're driving along the water goes the wrong way and goes straight into the grommet. My hole was on the drivers side, so I plugged it and it hasn't happened since.

It's a pain by try to clean the gutters, they do fill up with dust and crud add water and it blocks it up.

Check the grommets under the carpet also, take the drivers seat out and the side trimmings and you'll be able to lift up most of the carpet.

A long shot if you have sun rooves, make sure it's not running down the pillar? just a thought.

      Hey all, not sure how active SAU is anymore but will ask away anyways. Just wanted to get some experience on the 2008 model GTR CBA model.  I've hit that age in my life (43) where I'm like fk it time to get my dream (midlife crisis) car. Looking at importing one in and seeing if these can be reliable if the main flaws are fixed up. Plan is to keep money aside to do the following straight off the bat to future proof it: * install a stage 1 rebuilt trans with all new bits and pieces.  * install a new Bellhousing from the later model GTRs. Or potentially an upgraded stronger version like MAD or ATR. Besides the above two things and typical maintenance items anything else you'd recommend doing.   Been speaking to a few people and the engine on these are very reliable apparently. But keen on the view of the community here. Hoping to find a nice grade 4.5 with low mileage in Grey. I'd go black but swirls too easy. Look forward to your responses and feedback. Cheers

      Do Alan and Keith work on Skylines now? I remember buying stuff from them when I owned my Ralliart Lancer a few moons ago. Definitely genuine guys and be excellent if they dealt with the skyline platform as well.

      Hey all, I'm Gaston from Sydney's West.  I was a member on here when I was a younger lad and owned a mint R33 GTS-T. Ended up selling it and getting married having kids (yadda yadda) we all know how the story goes. Now I'm back with the intention to get my midlife crisis (dream) car ... a R35 GTR.  You'll see me about asking questions and searching the forums. Good to be back and can't wait to get back an Import again.
