Follow the bottom radiator hose to the block.

Remove the hose. There will be a thing with 3 bolts that the hose attaches to.

Unbolt it and you will see the thermostat. Give it a tug and remove it.

Clean up the hole it came from, install the new one.

Reseal and install the flange.

Refit hose, fill with water and bleed.

ultra blue is great stuff. i used it on my water pump (with fingers tightly crossed cos it was my first mechanical work) and my exhaust joins - all are perfect.

when you 'clean up the hole it came from' use a razor (if there's sealant still hanging there) and/or some light sand paper.

i'm doing this on the weekend, if i think to do it, i'll take photos - it looks like a bitch to get to the housing bolts.

Most R33 doesn't come with a thermostat, my blown engine and the replacement engines doesn't have one either. I bought a Nismo thermostat and it's installed on my current engine. Most of my friends and replacement engines also doesn't come with a thermostat. I don't even know what the OEM thermostat looks like. lol

RPR33, Check your radiator and hoses. If your temp gauge is going up, then radiator is your best bet. Mine recently sprung a leak and cause the temp gauge to go skyrocket. Now i'm using a Koyo OEM replacement and my car works like a charm now.

Hey guys I just wanted to know how to change my themostat on my r33 s2. the thing just isn't heating up!!!

rb30 thermostat is direct fit replacement. all cars should run one, my car sits at 76 degrees with my rb30 thermostat and the PWR radiator.

as for R33's - yes they should all come with thermostats - someone removing them for some silly reason. doesnt help the car at all to remove it.
