Hi Guys,

I just received my fully translated owners manual that describes how every single button works for the premiuim TV/nav system. It has some pretty good features on it which can still be used.

Got it online from a guy in New Zealand. If anyone wants details on how to get one, let me know. it was $35 + Postage. Well worth the money.

Aj

Max, in theory, if your aftermarket australian navigation solution or aftermarket DVD have an IR remote input, someone who's savvy with electronics can map the remaining buttons by finding out what IR data sequence the aftermarket dvd/nav unit requires to perform its functions (ie. zoom in / zoom out) and somehow make a relay that transmit the same IR data sequence when the factory button is pressed. then that will work.

But that will require lots of research and knowledge in IR-related electronic. And I don't think until now anyone have gone all that length to solve the V35 buttons where the V35 is such a niche market here in Australia... should have bought a 350Z locally perhaps eh?

Seems to be the magic word... though I gather half the buttons don't work after the conversion?

Why can't the faces just be replaced (not talking about stickers here)

All the buttons actually still work but half the buttons only work when you have a NAV DVD in there.

Does anyone actually have the Nav DVD around and can burn me a copy? I'll pay for the Dual Layer DVD-/+R cost and shipping... mine's missing from the car, I just wonder what other buttons will do if I press them with the DVD inside.

I have one in my 2003 coupe, I am in sydney, and I have a pioneer Dual Layer writer, Drop me a pm, I can help you out.

i'm assume that since you're nice enough to share this information, you are going to be nice enough to at least write down a list of what can be done on the navi system?

its not breaching copywrite as you are interpreting the translation and writing it in your own terms

after all, isn't the purpose of these forums to share the knowledge about our cars??

Ahh, makes sense - Rianto told me half the buttons don't work, he obviously didn't realise it was a NAV DVD issue.

yeah, as i never have one but i'll try to 'borrow' a nav dvd asap to see what the other buttons will do...

also does anyone have the ETC (electronic toll card) that previous owner left in their vehicle in Japan?

just wondering what the other ETC-related menus on the screen will reveal with that card inside...?

    • Plan on the day will be to park trackside. Depending on space availability we will try put a small shade tent and a few of the cars on top of the hill inside turn 3, this is an easy to get to parking area with views of Turn 2, Turn 3, Turn 4 and Turn 5 and limited other pieces of the view around the track. IMPORTANT NOTE! One consideration from previous years is from memory the trackside parking sells out before the admission tickets, for that reason I encourage anyone planning on coming to buy tickets for parking now via the official website; https://www.worldtimeattack.com/ The type of parking you are looking for is 2 Day Park & View (Access Around Venue) Vehicle Pass Only Please note this does not include admission to the event itself, remember to grab that also, and kids under 12 get in for free!
