Have you checked the cam timing yet?

Stalker :D

No. Would you do it for some beverage? I need to see you anyway. It running a bit rich and a couple of problems have just reared their head :bunny: And that screaming on boost is back.

It held up well after a track day today aside from using 50L of 98 octane in less than 140km  I think it had the worst fuel consumption of the day and there were some large power cars there.

There were two problems immediately apparent as soon as it hit 5000rpm however. On low boost (14.9PSI) it blows plumes of black fuel smoke and splutters and hesitates and doesn't want to climb past 5000rpm happily. The tacho bounces up and down and it jumps and splutters. On high boost (17.4PSI) it'll still splutter when it hits about 5000rpm but isn't blowing as much smoke and will happily climb and sit on 7500rpm.

I think it needs a bit more dyno time.

Sounds more like the screaming is a boost leak, and hence causing it to overfuel and retard the ignition by having a higher air flow voltage than it should without the boost leak, would also explain the ridiculous fuel economy that wasn't apparent before.

Can check cam timing no problems, and also put back on rollers to see if we can find the source of the screeching! Call me next weekend and we'll make a time..

Sam.
