ok ive recently purchased my power fc d-jetro for my 33 gtr and i want to get a new boost controller as the hks one i have now is old and i got no idea how to use it.

i was planning on getting an E-Boost 2 as i have an eboost in my gtst and is realy easy to use and seems to do the job quite well

when talking to my mechanic just before he told me that i should just get the power fc boost control kit so everything is run easy through the power fc

how easy are these things to use? (how do u change between settings?)

how many different boost settings can it run?

Are they any good? (holding boost etc)

As im chasing for sumwhere near the 500hp+ range i want to make sure that im not going to have any problems with it and end up wishing that i bought sumthing else

i prepared to pay for an eboost as i dont realy see it as that much and as for reliability, i have 1 in my gtst and have no complaints about it, they are very good

im just trying to gauge more info on the apexi kit

id rather have bird flu or blowtorch my nipples than buy an eboost again, not specifically that mine broke within a week of installing it or that turbosmarts customer care when it came time for a warranty was long and rude...so long in fact i sold my car before i recieved it back and they forgot my wiring loom.

im going to go take a valium now

thanx guys for all your opinions, please keep them coming, would still like sum more advice from people who have them or have used them in the past, not just what u have heard about them

I had the PFC boost control kit on my old R33 GTS-T. It held boost perfectly and I never had any problems. I also liked how it worked through the PFC commander so I didn't have another control unit on/around my dash.

I now use an AVCR which is just as good but now have the control unit on my dash which I think looks ugly.

The AVCR uses exactly the same control solenoid.

The boost kit can generally be setup well'ish, it just takes some playing around.

The fact it uses the same solenoid as the AVCR is not as important as you might think. From eye, it looks very similar to the unit used on the E-Boost (which, how ever overpriced i think it is, IS a good unit when setup correctly) The solenoid itself is a "tool" if you will. Its effectiveness is up to the person wielding it (that 'person' being the microprocessor in this case)

If you do hock ~$600 on an EBC btw, I'm heavily biased here... but you cant beat the Blitz DBC... along with the Jaycar controller (requires tinker time)
