Rb20det Sounding Like A Wrx

well i took off tonight in the wet and u know when ya hit high revs the car sorta bounces... well i changed to second and just died! started to sound like a wrx!!!!! and smells like fireworks!!! wat could i have done! i cannot even drive it anymore!its like bopbopbopbopbopbop

fuel pump is still buzzing!

and sounds like its choking!

it starts fine....

would my pump be dead?

sounds like you mighta lost spark in a cylender or two

just noticed in ur sig u have the same turbo as me, how u find it hitting boost etc?

spark plugs just been changed not even 200km's driven..

coilpacks?? dunno?

turbo pulls hard as man! very nice! hoping for 240kw when i get z32!!

pump would just give u a dead fealing not the wrx sound, check ur coil harness or ur packs its 1 of those, i got 300rwhp on 18psi with the turbo nice turbo for that hp range

another thing, does ur car hit redline without dieing? or duz it come to a sudden hult? when i 1st put my turbo in it used to get a fuel cut at abt 6k (new computer time)

hey nah i can ev rev it as its bupbupbupbup all the time!

i have a pfc! its like a wrx the whole time! even with revs! cant drive past 2k

any garage will b able 2 tell u which coils are dead. go for a set of splitfires and a new harness the cars old time 4 sum new electrics

it wont let u go past 2k or u choose not to ? if its not letting u get past 2k then its probly ur pump, if u can redline with the wrx sound its likely the coilpacks or harness

might be as simple as the pfc ecu plug coming out?

ive done it twice, and had same symptoms as u.

just go the coilpacks and a new harness anyway there a must if u want a reliable rb20, when my car missfired i could get to redline it took abit longer than usual but it got there, u mite have a fuel pump issue

yeh getting a walbro pump, z32 and gonna order coils!

ill cleam my afm 2morrow and wack the pump in and c how it goes!

this problem comes up alot with rb's a nice set of coils and a new harness should c u on ur way to a reliable car the amount of times my car has pulled the wrx stunt is stupid after the coils and harness its been like a dream gl with ur car

nah mid temp pn the gauge! normal driving temp!
