I don't know if I'm the only one who thinks this is outdated, but I've logged on so many times and seen the silhouette of the R34 taillights and yet, all the hype, recent talk and factual eventuality of the R35 got me to thinking - that and I've driven both and i have to wonder personally - would SAU be better off changing or at least updating the site with the latest car on the banner?

I believe its time for the banner to change.

The R34 has to go... well, its tail lights at least.

The R35 is the logical successor and i don't believe i will hear many arguments against this point of view - definitely not from any SAU member worth a grain of GTR salt thats for sure.

So...

Let's put this to a vote, shall we?

R35 ftw.

Good point Adam, but no.

I like the banner, from a bias POV, but on a general note the R34 is more 'representative' of this forum.

The R35 is still new, only a few of us have seen it (but yes it's beautiful), the hype is 98% media-based marketing and has hit many a nail on the head for Nissan.

Also, the ratio of forum subsriber ownership of the R35 compared to the Skylines would be like putting a hair (from the scalp you dirty buggers) on a meat pie and saying "ok, that's how many of us own R35's".

One last note. How could you put an R35, the Sydney skyline (no pun intended) and the bridge together in one shot, when it hasn't officially been 'brought over' yet? You might call it pioneering, or vision.

I call it premature ejaculation.

Omar, dude, its the way the car is heading - so why not change the flag to set the tone?

It doesn't matter if it hasn't "arrived yet" - there are plenty of R35's in Oz right now.

I think the banner should change simply because the R34 is old hat compared to the R35, fundamentally and technologically.

Simple as that.

yes, i would like to avoid the flames comparing R34 to R35..

Its simple, fundamental Darwinistic evolution to me...

I think the site should roll with that as well...

Its only a matter of time anyway, really.

If it were me, i would want the latest and greatest technological flagship as a banner for my site if the mains of it all were centered around a Nissan and with no disrespect to the R34 in this discussion, it just doesn't cut the mustard when compared to the R35.

I would like to see the R32 R33 and R34 on it!

haha... as they are the most famous of the skylines right? :P

R32 is the Godzilla... the R33, is the most popular and the R34 gets alot of media attention.

the current R34 was never put in the banner cos it was the newest model skyline.... it was just put there cos the designer had the shot and thought it looked pretty lol.... we don't have to have the "best" model there imo, just as long as we have a banner that looks cool :P

I love the look of the banner now. I don't mind at all if it stays.

However, if it were to change, despite the fact that i'm a 34 fan, a banner with all series of skylines on the banner i think would look pretty cool also...and yes, why not even the 35 included? May as well...skyline or not...i still feel like it belongs in the family :(

    • Looking for a S2 front grill for an R34 GT/GTT Doesn’t have to be in excellent condition as I’m looking to paint it. Would preferred if the clips were around.    The $500 this marketplace guy is asking sounds ridiculous in my opinion.
    • Nah, just take the other one off too
    • A mini mini-gun.
    • Oh yeah forgot to also mention need to also unplug the IACV as well. Thanks for the reminder @MBS206 Unplugging the TPS takes it out of closed loop so you're able to screw down the IACV without the ECU trying to add/subtract timing to maintain the idle (not sure PowerFC can even do this, but Nistune and the OEM definitely does)
    • For sale is my 1999 Nissan Skyline R34 GT-T, tuned to 234 kW / 313 hp. I've had the car for a few years as my daily driver. The car is original (as far as Skylines go), with only a few minor upgrades to enhance performance and driving experience, as typical for such a car of its age. Overall, it is in great condition with no body rust, thanks to its earlier import date. It features a top-notch security system (not literally, but it's great!) with remote start and still functional 4-wheel steering via HICAS. It comes with several performance and handling upgrades, including:     Hypergear 450HP Turbocharger running 17 PSI boost, installed mid-2021 by Jaustech     550cc injectors     Nistune ECU     Front-Mount Return-Flow Intercooler     X-Force Stainless Steel Exhaust     Upgraded engine mounts     Bottom end bearings replaced     BC Coilovers     Lenso DR1 rims     Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE003 TL 245/40R18 97W tires, fitted early 2023 The interior is mostly stock, with a few additions:     Viper Satellite Tracking System with remote start     Bluetooth Double-Din Touchscreen Head Unit     Steering wheel cover Cons:     A few paint imperfections here and there     Driver’s seat shows more wear than the others. It's not torn at all, but I've added a seat cover to protect its condition. I also have a CarVX Vehicle History report available for serious buyers, so you don’t need to purchase it yourself. Price: $26,000 ONO.
