yep i was there today saw the gtr go on the dyno!

although there seem to be alot of problems on the dyno the r35 wouldnt stay in gear to complete the runs took about 4-5 goes before finalli producing the 366kw atw

also saw the sau stand next to the dyno!

and i just read yesterday about the r32 gtr that beer baron was building with the crate motor! i saw it and read that piece of paper that said 2007 crate motor and i was like oic thats the one i read about!

I got to sit in the 35, got a pic of me in it. God thank the hot Asian chicks hanging around the skylines for convincing the guy to take a photo etc.... ps.. the camera guy wasn't complaining about your short skirts and accidentally open legs. my wife jabbed me pretty hard in the ribs though and I wasnt even looking. My god it was nicer inside (35) then I thought it would be. Definetly A nice feel. Also went by the SAU stand and sat in the barrens car (the legend was only to happy to open the hole thing up and let me druel all over it. Guy was nice, easy to talk to... I didn't go looking over the hole car.. I wanted to... forgot to ask, vspec2? or just got some 'black painted' brembos thrown on? I did ask if the brakes were an upg but didn't hear what he said.. I hate to repeat myself. Either way. The bloke was awesome about letting a random as far as he's concerned jump in. I looked over the thing in a couple of the usual spots wondering if he was telling the truth about it.. The hole thing seemed *read f**king immaculate* .. nice little reborn virgin of a car. Don't rem if that was his car he rebuilt or if that was the second car he coasted over. >:)

No pics in the barrens car but good times. (Cheers barren's friend who barren entrusted the keys too, baz my shoes were clean mate so he didn't do you wrong). You brought a smile to the face mate.

The SAU birds getting hit on by the 14 yr old lebs with gay haircuts was pretty funny. Was seriously having a laugh with the wife about >;P.

Some real nice gtrs.. Some overly riced crap in there though managed to find a single fd amongst the sleaze that was hawt (tas targa car). 980kw "street legal" dyno queen supra was fun to watch dump a shit load of fuel. Respect atwkw though. Was fun to watch some cars with external gates /dumps re-circ a crap load of exhaust and with appropriate unburnt fuel out the exhuast causing enough blow back to start a gunfight. SAU people would have breathed in enough uncatelised exhaust to get high.

Some tarmac rally cars looked THE awsome.. the corrola rebuild was alright and I hate corry's. over all some absolutely beeeeeeutiful cars... Sorry for the white mushy mess I made on the steering + door + trimmings in the 35 again.

After going to the show I'm now on the hunt for my very own v-spec 2... I'm selling my current car... who am I kidding! The modded 33 I own is fun, but after sitting back in the barrens 32.... made me feel that yearn, that want for the R. It gave me hope I really could find one I would want. Bye Bye play money for a while.sigh. good times. high 5*

hehe, I wasn't even there! but I'm glad you enjoyed the car none the less. :) it's not a vspec though. they are just R33 GTR brembos we put on it. :) and yep, it's the one that was restored in japan. :) must have been one of the guys that showed you through the car, I was only there to drop it off friday night and pick it up sunday night :)

Yep, that was me giving you the tour. Basically, I went and talked to anyone that spent a few minutes looking it over, then if I could really tell they were into skylines, I let them have a look inside. I think only 3 people over the weekend earnt that priveledge :D

Sorry about the confusion, I probably should have introduced myself :)

And I thought I said they were 33 Brembos? Though I did have a few people ask, I may have missed your question.

And yes, on Saturday, when the Dyno was forcing the exhaust fumes right at us, I quite seriuosly did get dizzy a few times... :P

i thought i would earn that right :)

but there was noone around when i was checking out the skylines haha! i was there on the saturday and was at the sau stand a bit after the r35 was on the dyno!

Ahhh, I think we were putting the V35 on the dyno right after the R35 went on... We would have all been out the back getting some air that didn't have a ron rating of 110 :D

    • I wouldn't even move it like gTSBoy is saying. I'd seriously do what Duncan is saying. Unplug the injectors, and unplug the fuel pump.  Pull the spark plugs out. Have a look in quickly with a bore scope if you want. At most, you can't spray a bit of oil into the bores so there is lubricant in there while you crank it. (Don't fill it, as it's only going to enter the exhaust, or spit at you out the spark plugs holes. Before cranking the engine on the starter, after a 5 year sit I'd probably prime the oil system manually. Easiest way to do so is to look at buying an oil filter relocation block, fit it to the engine. The pressure line going into the engine on this block you can then shove into some sort of oil pump, or put it into a bottle, with that hose going to the bottom. Fill bottle up with oil. Now seal the bottle and add a compressed air line to the top of the bottle. Feed compressed air in, about 20psi will be PLENTY. This will pump oil through the motor. Be aware, it also means it will drain back to the sump, so make sure you don't end up over filling the motor Now bolt the old oil setup back on (or fully install the remote filter system).   This way you've at least pushed fresh oil everywhere, then you're letting the motor crank to then do its own oiling. Then I'd tap the key to make sure it can start to crank, if the motor free bumps, then I'd just hit the key and let it crank. After letting it crank and seeing you can get real engine oil pressure, put new spark plugs in, reconnect the fuel system electrics, and send it.   Additionally, you can look to remove the fuel feed line to the rail, and divert it to a tank so you can get the bottom of the tank shit out, and just incase there's some crud sitting anywhere that gets passed the fuel filter (or is already ahead of it).   If fuel injection at the injectors ends up appearing to be a problem, you can dump the injectors into an ultrasonic cleaner for a quick flush clean out. Note this isn't as good as new injectors, or getting them pro cleaned and flowed
    • All I can say is, that's still bloody awesome! No plans on caging it I'm guessing?
    • It seems you'd like your Skyline to go to a great home, that can keep it as a beautiful museum piece.  I feel I can provide the perfect place for it, however, I'm not sure I can justify so much money for a Skyline that has only been crashed 3 times. Due to this and market prices, would you be against me buying it for $100.00, with $60 to be paid upfront, and the remaining $40 to be paid annually in equal payments?
