Yeah I had awesome fun considering I had no front brakes just about (ask ando, chris and Greggles lol) but was happy with my 1.13.86 hand timed :D

Should be in the twevles next time with new brakes

Big thanks to Kel, Druncan, Neil, Ben M and Andrew who helped out on the dummy grid to help the day run smoothly, cheers guys and also big cheers to Ando gor 1. help with scruitineering in the morning and the punches to the head to psych me up lol

Also the exec team, job well done me thinks!

Was great seeing EVERYONE have a good time, esp Mezmirised.....who only had 1 session, but the smile on your face after that was worth it mate!

Hope everyone got back safely!

Okbye!

Lol yeah i have your video but it'll go up during the week.

Hopefully its third time lucky time i do wakey and don't break my turbo again.

lol @ my transformers sticker and jap plate in that pic (gunmental 33)

TJ - why didnt you fly over for today mate?

I would have shouted you a drive! lol no drifting for me !! Although I did go 4WDing with Dave at turn 1 which was funny..!!

Greg, sucks mate :ermm: time to upgrade to LS2!

Well apparently,,,all you lot were very well behaved today. The Wakefield officals that I spoke to were as happy as cops in shit,,,with only really one car that had to be recovered,,,Ha Ha sucked in Craved,,,I still love ya mate. Everybody seemed to drive within there limits which is a BIG credit to you all.

What I wasn't happy with was I didn't get to sell the 3 hand-held camers's used by passengers. Guy's I hate being the arsehole dragging you in to take them off you but thats so bloody dangerous.

All in all a great day,,,wish there were more.

Neil.

hehehehe

should have bought a 4WD to get me out of that Bog hole :ermm:

awesome day - been 4 years since the last time i was driving there, definately gotta get back there more. Nice meeting those of you i had chats to aswell :)

Yeah lol@transformer sticker :ermm:

yeah my best lap was 1:16 ish, considering it was my first proper trackday :), now just gotta kick off all the fresh dirt under the car...seriously

its like a farm down there lol

And oh

Nice to meet you Chris :)

A very cold but well organised day with great fun being had by everyone.

What was the outcome of the car with the smashed windscreen from apparently another car loosing bits? (myself being the lucky impact person for one of the bits).

i apologise i think they were my bits

thankfully no one was seriously hurt at least. poor window tho

other than that obviously souring both mine and wraith's days a bit, i really did have a good time out there.

but mainly it was cold lol

WOW!! What a great day peeps!! A big thank you to all organisers for a really well run event. Everyone had a ball out there and it was awesome to see the courtesy displayed on the track by all drivers giving each other room to move/pass and stuff. Special thanks to Abo Bob for scaring the hell out of me early in the day and making me paranoid as to not dare put a wheel off the track. It worked well because my car is in one piece and mud free. Also a massive thanks to Duncan for the tips out on the track in the last session when he was mentoring me from the passenger seat, and making me brake alot later and harder in the turns and giving me the secrets to the three hardest corners on the track. Had to have shaved a second or two off my best time for the day of 1:18.4 (hand timed) so i could guestimate maybe 1:16's for me which I'm really happy with on street rubber. First time for my car on the track and hopefully not the last.

Bring on the vids and pictures people!!!!!

lol, for the 10 minutes that i was out there, i had a f#cking awesome time. for the people in group 4 for the last session...i moved out of the way as soon as i saw you...damn you guys are quick

I was completely blown away by the friendliness and generosity of everyone today. People, most of whom i'd only met today, went out of there way to help me out. I am eternally grateful :)

A big thanks goes out to Corinne for her willingness to help me out, especially giving me a lift into town to get me a new fan belt after mine snapped on my 2nd lap, and smoke started rising out of the bonnet and my coolant was boiling away.....

A big thanks to mitch for giving me a lift back into town to try and get the correct belt after repco gave me the wrong one, which ended up being futile as they closed 30 mins before we got there :)

A big thanks to Bullet_32 for giving me his belt after his car cried no more. You are my saviour, without you i would have been stranded in goulbourn until at least monday...if you ever need a favour mate, just ask

A big thanks to ben for taking the time to get my car back on the road. this man spent the majority of the day helping people fix their cars, and give tips to noobs on the track via the passenger seat, and asked nothing in return, respect :ermm:

Thanks to Anna who organised accomodation at Mikes Manor. $40 for a comfy bed/breakfast within 10 mins of the venue, can't complain

And everyone else who helped organise the day, thanks

damuscat, good to meet you, shame we couldn't race during the same session. would've been interesting to compare your 2835 to my 3076r.

got home in one piece, but now my turbo is sluggish and not making boost like it used to (max is 15psi at 6000rpm now as opposed to 22psi at 4000rpm at the start of the day), and my exhaust is louder than before :) ...the never ending dramas of modified cars.

would've taken more pics/videos, but was too busy trying to sort of my car. hardly the most exciting footage, but my camera doesn't have zoom for video. the speeds captured though must of easily been >200km/h, as i was getting past 180 on that straight and managed to always f*ck up the last turn coming up to that straight

Well I only decided 48hrs before this event that I was going to attend so I could spectate. But after spending 30mins freezing on the grid checking cars before entering the track and freezing my ears and nose off I thought the best way to get warm was to go and sit in a car...racing around the track.

Was great to see so many new faces on the track, hasnt been like that for a good 3yrs. Considering the track condition for the first half of the day I was quite surprised to see so little excursions into the mud. Some awesome cars out on track and some decent lap times.

For the newbies that have now got the bug and are thinking how they can get more power out of those RB's just consider this:

I spent about 25 laps in a 383awkw R32 GTR with no expense spared under the bonnet, rollcage, brembo's, wide tyres yada yada yada and I also did about 10 laps in a R33 GTS-t with about 180rwkw in a fairly standard run of the mill RB25 and they did the exact same laptimes. You do not need bucket loads of power to get fast laptimes, you need decent suspension + brakes and a nice set of semi-slicks and then just pleeeeenty of experience going round and round and round.

I have to agree in general with this concept, however a near stock GTR (no handling enhancements and cheap ass tyres) can pull low 1.13s on its first wakefield session with a sports car newbie like me and your sig says your pulling 1.20s. I don't want to sound to rude, but driving style seems to be the issue here rather then the set up of the cars in question. The V8 commie I timed at 1.15.96 on Saturday, just for a benchmark.
