If the tanker holds what 10,000L of fuel, @ $2.50/L that's $25,000, even 5000L is $12,500. I can see the number of people stealing petrol rise a lot.

Im not 100% sure how much they hold but i think the deliveries at my site are closer to 25k L. Good luck hiding a tanker tho

correct me if I'm wrong, but if my calculations serve me correctly, our fuel prices here in australia are way higher than in america.

Here its safe to say on average regular fuel costs $1.70AUD/L

America on average pays $4.50ish USD/Gallon for regular fuel.

1 Gallon = 3.78L

$4.50USD divided by 3.78 = $1.19USD/L

Current exchange rate is $1 USD = $1.0511 AUD

1.19 times 1.0511 = 1.250809

So for comparison:

America pays $1.25AUD/L for regular on average

Australia pays $1.70AUD/L for regular on average

....yay

What the hell!! How does that make sense!! Some one care to shed some light on this?

higher than America but not as high as Europe i think..

we pay 6.50Dhs per gallon here = 1.72Dhs per litre

= 49c (australian cents) per litre...

it costs me around $23AUD to fill up my car each week...

i nominate my self for driving under the trucks with a blindfold on.... oh and ill jump to the truck aswell..... i slip i can hang from one arm and huge speeds for hours so ill be fine :(

a) Where are you from?

b) How quickly can you start exporting fuel tankers to us with that cheap fuel?

Well personally I'd kill to be able to spend $100 a week on fuel. Atm I use 4 tanks of petrol a week and at around $80 a pop its pretty expensive lol.

My solution is we should all move to Dubai/UAE. 15c/L fuel, no speed limits, massive roads and lots of work :) only problem is its like $15 for a beer lmao!

Also I think the Americans pay less for fuel because their fuel is slightly worse than ours? They have like 85RON or some shit im unsure but I know the highest RON rating they have their is 93 or 95. It could be the reason why or just because they invaded Iraq so they get the cheaper fuel..who knows eh.

Fuel will hit $2.00/L at Christmas and probably peak at $2.25 during Christmas holidays while everyone is off work and then in Jan/Feb it will drop back down to $1.85 and we'll all be cheering because fuel prices have dropped so much :D

What happened to the days of $0.91/L Christ is was only last year some time lol!

I've got a work ute with free fuel so I'm not all that worried,

as an apprentice I couldn't imaging having to pay for my own fuel for work, *shudders thinking about it*

The price of petrol is scary, especially when we're paying extra for the Ultimate/V Power for 2 turbo cars. I'm willing to sell my wagon and get a local 4 cylinder while my partner keeps the Skyline. But there's nothing on the local market around the $15k mark with features like VSC, digital climate control and good suspension and handling.

Will probably grit our teeth, drive less and only consider selling when prices hit the $2.50 mark. :)

Am quite happy with the 2 cars on the left. Prelude for daily driving gets 9l/100Km. It has brilliant handling with 4WS to compensate for FWD. V-Tec engine. Can be easily chipped for an extra 15KW to 160KW. Costs < $10K

I know it doesn't suit some guys...

its funny how most of u think gettin a motor bike will fix all ur problems

how wrong most u are.. yer sure ull save money @ the pump, sounds good

but biek tyres are very fkn expensive and they dont last 60,000km+ and they arent cheap either...

try 300+ just for normal touring tyres.. nothing special.. and pads?? lol 30 brake pads?? try again

and those dont last as long either.. infact.. nothing last long on a bike.. chains dont last very long and neither do the sprockets... and then theres the expensive as oils because they gotta live in an engine that can rev to 12k+

then theres rego which is my dads case which is just a gsxr750.. more than his commodore... and also the insurance and all the gear u need while riding..

Bikes arent cheaper. u guys need to understand that

unless u own a scooter... then there is no advantage to a bike at all

    • It only looks tidy, as most of the stuff that was on the whole back wall, is now in the trailer to go to the tip, or has been shoved in my 2.2x2.4m "Spare parts room", and now I can't get to anything in there Ha ha ha I could definitely do with a bit more space, but I'd just end up with your problems I'm going to enclose the car port beside the garage, and move a lot of stuff into it I think. OR... It will be setup as a fabrication area, and the main garage will have parts storage in it. I'm not sure yet... Need some pictures of that big shed you've got with the bikes and Skyline in
    • No. I think it's gone. 😭 I think you can get body coloured ones on eBay so I think I'll get one of those... Or just hang a red ribbon from the hole and whack a TOW sticker next to it.
    • Can't say I've had a bad experience with one on my car, then again it only gets washed once or twice a year... The wheels on the other hand, get a good spray often due to my shitty dusty pads.
    • @MBS206 thats pretty neat and tidy to me!  I'll get a photo of mine when I'm out there next. It might require multiple photos to understand the scale of the atrocities though... In total I have 4 sheds of varying sizes and layouts. Main shed is 14x8, second shed is 3x8, third shed is 11x2.5, fourth shed is around 6x4.  All are pretty much full.   The main goal of my cleaning tsunami is to make the main shed predominantly car and motorbikes only. Second shed is my metal fab room (2 x bench grinders, drill press, bench belt sander, metal band saw, scrap metal storage and some of my garden tools.  3rd shed is more bigger garden stuff, storage for engine crane, jack stands, concrete grinder, concrete mixer, air compressor lives there, and it now has two 2mx2m pallet racking shelves with itemised boxes holding building stuff, electrical stuff, plumbing stuff, etc, etc.  The 4th shed is Ryobi electric ride on mower, mini boom sprayer, ancient Kubota tractor, more garden stuff!  I have got a lot of shit....  Then there's the pool house (8mx4m) and the pool pump shed (4mx4m).  I built all of the sheds over the 11 years we've been here.  The main shed was a Ranbuild kit, the rest are all custom made to fit the areas available. Building the main shed taught me a LOT as I had no idea about building anything prior to that!  I've still got one more in me. It will be my man cave which I poured the extra concrete for way back when I poured the concrete for the main shed. The idea is the Skyline will be a centre piece of the main cave once (if...) it's finished.  I told my now 14 year old son yesterday that I will 100% drive him to his year 10 formal in 2 years. Still a long way off but at least I now have a date to work towards! 🤣
    • Modern oils are amazing. Add tyres to that as well.
