Hi

The boys over at Chasers Motorsport have told me that i need to upgrade my stock afm on my r33 gtr to attain this power along with my turbo upgrade - is this true?

The reason i ask is because in the RB26 Dyno Results page there are heaps of ppl with 350+ awkw's that haven't listed z32's?

Worst case - dead motor probably in the most extreme scenario

End of the day, its what, $600 more, if you've just upgraded turbos etc its part and parcel.

Owning a GTR isnt cheap, let alone modifying one.

I also hope your motor is healthy, as rebuilds aren't cheap either

the worst case with maxing afms is you run out of load points, so it runs map sensor style

once it maxes, load never incrases, so you have less load points to play with

if it happens at say 4000rpm then from that point onwards you only have say 6 more points on the tune to play with

whereas if it wasnt maxing you would say maybe 40+ points to play with.

so less granulatarity = more dull tune to deal with the wide scope

mine came up pretty good, were around 80% duty @ 290rwk about the same for inj duty aswel, my tuner said many tap out around that and they loose safety margin as you start to hit max inj and turbine efficiency if you push harder.

heh, give it a crack if your chasing power and have the money for a rebuild

yeah should not hurt the engine if tuned properly, just make the under load tune at top end less dynamic
