OK guys I have something a little different that I need clarification on.

I own a 1994 R32 V-Spec II and in the engine bay I have a NISMO plate next to the Blue nissan plate. It has a number on it and all that but I don't know what the hell it's there for. I was told it is because it has a Nismo clutch in it, but I can't see why the'd stick a plate in the engine bay just for a clutch.

Any ideas??

I will post pics up when I get the car back tonight (getting fitted with Red Stuff F & R).

Thanks in advance

Sorry pics will be posted tonight, I have been a bit too busy to take the photos yet.

I am unsure if it's for a Nismo clutch or not, I don't know if the car even has a Nismo one. I am just going by what the dude told me.

Would they actually put a plate in the engine bay for a clutch?

I have seen when a car has Nismo parts they put a build plate stating that part is number: xxxxx, whatever.

For example, here is a Nismo Strut Brace with a Build Plate / Part Number.

Is it anything like this what you got?

looks to be a clutch

I typed 30000 - rs595 bnr32 and found some sites with nismo catalogues.

At first i thought u had Nismo Turbo's cos they had the model # 141111- rs595!!!! But the prefix 30000 appears to be for the drivetrain

nismo parts

G-MAX Twin : PlateClutch Sets 3002B-RS595 130,520 1 93/2 - SpecⅠ Sports Driving 向け Cover Pressure =950Kgf

9 3002B-RS596 134,560 1 SpecⅡ 最高speed Driving 向け Cover Pressure =1150Kgf

10 G-MAXTriple PlateClutch Sets 3003B-RS597 166,320 1 SpecⅢ チューンドカーのドラッグRacing 向け / Cover Pressure =1200Kgf

^^NICE FIND DLOOOK

But nothing kinda matches Dirt Diggler's Part Number on the chart...

Its either

3000S-RSR25-B

3000S-RSR25-N

3000S-RSR35-B

3000S-RSR35-N

3000S-RSR35-E

But no 30000-RS595...

OR he either has the Sports Clutch Kits [included : Disc - Cover - Light Flywheel - Release Bearing ], which is the 30000 part and RS595 must = to G-MAX Twin : PlateClutch Sets...

So is it like a Mix and Match selection to choose from because it will all fit but depending on what set up you want or in this case the previous owner wanted?

Thanks for searching guys.

Iron Chef - Have you seen this car before?? I am the first Aussie owner of it and I don't remember ever showing it to you. Maybe you saw it at the auctions.

If it does have a twin plate clutch set-up it must be a bit worn. I did a 6000RPM Dump last night and it slipped like mad and I cooked it hard!! (whoops) It stank the whole way home which took about an hour of freeway driving. It seems ok today though. It is also extremely street driveable for a twin plate so it must be sprung centered or something as I have no probs driving it daily to and from work. I get no shudder or anything that I get in my Mazda Familia GTAe which has a sprung center Exedy HD Organic in it!

Interesting.....

Thanks guys I guess I will only find out once the thing needs to be replaced! Then it's gonna cost me another shit load of dosh! The brakes set me back $700 for a full set of Red Stuffs fitted and discs machined! They are awesome though but fark they dust up heaps! Oh well, price you pay for good brakes!

Sorry for the slow reply, I haven't seen the car in the metal, but I remember translating that plate before. Your broker and I share the same supplier.

    • 49719 is the cooler loop. Right at the front, LHS of that diagram. Return line from rack (LP side) goes to cooler loop on RHS front of car, then back under engine and returns to bottom of tank. 49717M is feed from tank to pump. HP line out of pump is thick rubber, followed by the hard line that runs down to crossmember and runs in parallel (but opposite flow direction) to the LP return line. Nothing goes anywhere near the firewall or interior of car. The closest they get to that is the connections on the rack.
    • Thanks, plan is to drain all fluid tomorrow and do smoke test to find out the leak.   Appreciate your help and want to understand how the system work. So cooling is achieved by the long loop not any rad? The diagram seems to suggest it connects to somewhere inside the cabin and I thought that is a cooler inside firewall. If you look at the diagram it seems to show it connects to something inside firewall. I tried chasing it but not easy unless I take loads off   i am confident pump is good as fluid goes in and it gets soft( steering) but as soon as I turn engine off , loads of bubble come to surface and overflow. When engine is on , fluid level is below minimum but when off it shoots off and thinking it is sucking air in. I suspect aluminium pipe may have a crack line or whole   smoke test with no fluid should be a good start and if needed will remove the pump   In addition, the one going under the engine bay is high pressure line and one directly connecting from pump to resorvoir is return/ low pressure?   finally I searched and suggestion is to use dexron 2 but that is discontinued so bought dexron 3 as all research suggest it is compatible and shouldn’t cause any issues/ blow seals. I bought two liter of dexron 3 motul atf
    • Don't worry about. Just don't try to drive hard enough to make boost and you'll be fine.
    • Yes. This has already been said. It is a loop of hardline in front of the radiator. Because.... the pump is on the LHS and the steering rack hydraulic connections are where they always are on a RHD steering rack....on the RHS. The high pressure line goes down under the engine, along the crossmember, like it does on all Skylines. Don't just throw expensive braided hoses/other kits at it. Work out what is wrong and fix that.
    • Still got the afm on the intake, clamps are shut tight, only loose hose is the one that goes from the j pipe towards the IACV, since it's next to impossible to find a factory hose and the barbs are different sizes (I'm still using clamps on this hose to try and help it seal on the iacv side) I've ordered parts to make up the hotside of the intercooler pipes, I'll plumb it in and see what happens in a few days I suppose The turbo's internally gated, can I just unscrew the tension rod to let the gate open?
