V35 S2 Keyless Ignition

G'day all, recently got my 12/04 S2 V35 but came without smart key keyfobs. It has taken me several weeks to track down what is needed. There are plenty of Infinity versions cheap on ebay but I am informed that they are a different frequency. Nissan quoted me about $250 each, but they also supplied a key for $177 plus $50 cutting only to find out it doesn't fit in the extended piece on the ignition. Still waiting to hear about a refund. I also tried the 1st step for programming a key fob but it didn't work. It may be that I didn't have a key fob in the car. Any advice on where I can get a couple of key fobs etc. would be greatly appreciated.
