My Funniest is also my scariest.

Was driving a converted VW beach buggy on the dunes up at lancelin. Doing about 30km/h at the base of the dunes, just after the rocky flat area, and must have hit a rather large rock on the right rear, which im told caused the brake drum to break in half.

I remember the car almost handbraking onto the rock, so i fished it back left so stop it rolling, only to end up with the back wheels on the rock anyway, and there started my 1 and 3/4 roll clockwise.

Came to a rest looking at the ground over my left shoulder, my mate in the passenger seat looking completely confused, and my girlfriend about 20m behind us who hadnt been wearing a seatbelt.

End result, two headaches, one badly bruised elbow and some scratches, all from 30km/h.

Driving a Ford Boredom hire car in Scotland in the winter, I hit some black ice at about 70 mph going into a fast bend on a major, but fortunately empty road. After over-correcting at least twice, with the back end going all over the place, I ended up going backwards along the road, still skidding, at about 40 mph. I remember thinking "Which way do you turn the wheel when skidding backwards?". I eventually came to a rest, embedded boot first in a hedge, just above a big drop into a field. I had never seen black ice before, the tarmac just looked slightly wet. When I got out of the car, it was so slippy that I fell straight on my backside. It was like an ice rink. Shortly afterwards, I got a lift from the local postman back into the nearest town and had a fun time explaining all to the hire company.

Not a problem I am likely to see in WA!

Nearly 5 years ago when i was on my P's thinking i was the greatest driver in the world......

I jumped into my mums Auto EA Falcon which was parked infront of the garage, i 'thought' i had put the car in reverse, looked over my shoulder to reverse out and planted my foot! CRASHHH!!

I drove straight thorugh the garage and farked up the garage door and scratched up the EA all over the front.

Wasnt a bad accident, but i laugh every time i think of it, ohhhh the shame, lol

funniest accident I have seen/been involved with was as follows....

an ex GF and I went to KFC for lunch on Canning Highway, and she was in a fairly shit mood. greasy food and my charming wit didnt help matters, and when we eventually left, I think it could be said that she was a tad stroppy.

anyway, weleft the parking space and went to reverse across the parking lot into a vacant space opposite at about 50km/h. more unnerving was the fact that the driver was looking forwards while she did it.

I had a moment of consciounce whilst I decided whether to:

A - pull the handbrake and risk a verbal barrage about "you dont trust me, waah blah wahhh!!", or

B - throw caution to the wind and let fate decide what delightful manner of object, if any, we might hit.

I went with fate, and sure enough, we hit something, HARD. I jumped out of the car to see what......

.....next time you're at KFC Canning Highway, have a look along the ends of the parking spaces. you'll notice that the most north-west space has a shorter bay, with some land cribbed away for a pole. at the top of the pole is...you guessed it, the Colonel's Giant Bucket.

So yeah, My ex hit the KFC bucket and rooted the back of her gemini.

bugger me if those things dont shake like a pendulum when they get a good whack. thing bobbed around for about 5 minutes.

haha Al had the same kinda thing with my ex ..... everytime I said something about him coming to close to an object etc i got a barrage of "Yeah i see it errr dont you trust my driving etc"

So we were coming back from Manjimup in a work WRX one day ....also pulling out of KFC and there was this van in front of us .... and he was getting to close to the back of this van and i was deciding whether to say something or not and i thought "phuck it everytime i do he makes me feel stupid" soooo he went straight into the back of the van ........ crumbled the bonnet so it would no longer latch!!! We found some wire and tied the bonnet down for the trip back as best as we could but everytime a truck zoomed past the other way you were kinda on the edge of your seat ..... is the bonnet going to fly up is it going to hold? as soon as we got back we had to take it to a dodgy panel beater to get it fixed asap to go back into the dealership .... it was a bodgy job - the boss noticed but didnt know who to pin the blame on.

apparently it happens quite a bit....

haha yes it does some people seriously need 2 learn how 2 drive it happens all the time at my work - some tool jus the other week reversed into a pump and completely rooted it grrrrrrrrrrr

exactly 5 days after getting my licence.

parents 75 series toyota lander cruiser tray back.

2 mates sitting next to me.

me thinking im the next rally driver champion.

gravel tracks in the hill down the road from byford.

side ways action round corners.

then on this one really good corner i did a wikid drift, side ways the whole way arround the corner, but kept going sidewards, completely sidewards, then i was going backwards. then the car was laying on its side. mates n i stuck sitting there with seat belts holding us in place. we eventually got out. thought shit eh. walk to servo. got tow truck. pulled back on wheels drove home. REALLY slowly.

next time about 3-4 year later. driving north west highway at about 160 in corrolla. decided to pull into parking bay, didnt really slow down ennuff, another 180 before side swipping a yellow bin. oppsss

the worst thing about that land cruiser accident, my folks made me fix and pay for all the damage myself.

it was still a fun drive.

    • Hey, guys, I’m hoping I can find answer here. I have already done some searching and asking around but still nothing.    I fitted an IC7 dash in my R32 GTR, and I got everything displaying on the dash except my high beams. I get input voltage and the high beams displaying in the dash when I pull the lever, but not when I fully engage the high beams. I spliced into the Red/Blue Beam+ wire in the black center connector from the cluster, but there is also a black Beam wire I think I need to use as well. The high beams still work. It’s just a matter of getting it to display on the dash.    Has anyone fully wired in their IC7 properly ? I would appreciate any guidance on this.    IMG_8835.mov
    • I buy my wheel cleaner in 4 litre bottles now. Euro brakes are brutal
    • Sounds like it may all just be some baseless outrage stoked by the carexplore guy? As in the linked social media outrage on facebook just goes back to carexplore as a source again. Further shown by the council response that nothing actually has changed: "The Private Land Use Permit has been part of the Casey Community Local Law for a number of years. It's important to clarify that this permit is not new, and no changes have been made to the permit or the Local Law in relation to the permit." The full council response in Prank's link sounds reasonable to me. Saying that as someone who neither lives there nor has a front yard to call their own
    • Clutch hydraulics are also all good, looks like a brand new slave cylinder and everything bled up well. No idea what the actual clutch is, and I don't intend to pull the box off on the floor to find out, so unless we have trouble on the dyno or at shakedown that will remain a mystery for the new owner
    • Front brakes are G4 8 pot calipers over 330mm discs with braided lines. Everything looks good, pretty sure these are off my old 350. Pads are brand new and judging from gold colour are Winmax which is what I also run on my race car, Neil and I both sourced brake stuff from Matty at Racebrakes Sydney who really knows his stuff Everything has bled up nicely with all new Motul RBF600 fluid, there were 2 loose hard line connections and the calipers were new on the car so I ended up doing it 3 times but it is perfect now
