Sammut Bros. Drag Nissan

I was checking out Andra's site and noticed that the Sammut Brothers still hold both the E.T. and terminal speed records in their class: 7.92 seconds with a 172.24MPH (277.18). Was set in March '99. Does anyone have any of the old articles on this car, in particular their engine setup?

Another surprise was that Grant Williams still holds his record of 8.68/162Mph in his class. Would have thought with all the rotors going around that would have been broken.

yeah i think it was a rb30 powered 300zx...

around the same time Jeff Watson had a FJ20 powered Austin Healey which was also an asss kicker...

And do any of you guys remember when Jeff Watson beat Victor Bray in his Austin Healey? It was a few years ago now but it just shows that 5lts only comes in oil containers.

Jeff Watson had an FJ20 in that thing, and the Sammut guys had a SOHC VL motor - even with the change over to a 300xz I don't think they changed their running gear, was more for aerodynamics.

I do remember the Victor Bray vs Jeff Watson race a few years ago.....

Jeff eventually bent the chassis of that Austin Healy and was looking for a new car to put the FJ20, the last time i have heard of him...
