Best Strip Wheel And Tyre Combination For My 34 Gtr

Took the car out to WSID last night but I'm finding it hard to get the car of the line with 19inch volks and 30 profile rubber . What are my options for wheels and tyres to get the 60ft down ?.

4 x 32 GTR rims and 4 x 255/50/16 Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials. If you can organise the wheels I can hook you up with the rubber.

heaps of sets on ebay at the moment for the stock 32R rims...

300zx wheels will probably do ?? . I'm going to try on a 16inch rim tommorow I've got my doubt about it clearing the brakes though I did speak to Jim at CRD today and he reckons they will fit on .

They'll work too and be cheaper but they're heavier. Prob won't make much of a difference but every little bit helps. They're 16 x 7.5" as opposed to 16 x 8" for the GTR rims.

R32 GTR rims will not fit over Brembo's on the front...well on mine they didnt

so 16 x 8" would be the rims to go for? what kind of weight would you be looking at / what do 32 gtr rims weigh? cant other rims work just as well? eg 17x8?

So now I'm in abit of a ruck if the 16's won't clear the brembo's . I don't really want to go pulling the brakes off does anyone make a 17inch drag radial?.

If you can fit a 275/40/17 under there then yes, no problems. And they're awesome.

What about R33 GTR rims?

17*9 and lightweight (roughly 9.5KG). Not that cheap to buy though....

33 GTR rims would've been my suggestion unless you already have some?

Yeh just did abit of research apparently can get them in 17's . Now to find a set of r33 gtr rims .

how long do the ET street radials usually last?

How long is a piece of string? Most racers will get easy one season out of them - say, six events with 5 passes per event. But that's only if they're turning them bloody hard in the burnout. If you're weak-sauce like Paulie D (sorry Paul, you know I love it) and you only smoke them when the cameras are rolling, then they'll last a lot longer.
