hi everyone.... this is my rant...

Last night after 9 ish i was coming home from picking the miss's up from work when we notice a car moving wierdly over the road up ahead heading towards the West Gate Bridge outbound.... as we got closer to the bridge we passed her from a far away as possible and she was swaying back and forward bairly holding her head up.... at first we though it was funny... stairing at her then our guts started to come up as the bridge got crouded......... cars were moving out of her way everwhere trying to avoid.. truck slaming on there breaks ect.. luckly no accidents.....

strait after the bridge we would normally turn off at williamstown rd but decided to follow for a short distance and ring the police while we followed... accationally flashin hazzards... not that we needed to she was making it obvious she had no idea where she was......

my girlfriend was talking on the phone giving the details with regualr update on which road we were passing... we followed onto western ring road and continued to follow... pass the ballarat sunshine turn off all the way through still on the phone to police as they continued to ask for progress down the HWY.... she pulled over in the emergency lane and a ute that i had thought had been doing the same as we did pulled infront... so we stoped to see what was happening... he grabbed her and dragger her out of the car giving her a shake up.... telling her to follow closer were nearly home... this guy was full on covered in tats... ferrol as... she was a scraggy bush rat looking thing.... and she was staggering around barily missing passing trucks.... anyway...

they pulled away... mean time were still on the phone to police telling them whats happening... they asked us to keep following so it makes her easier to identify.... we had gone pass calder HWY turn off... remember we stated back before the westgate.... onto western ring and havent turn off..... the cop finally ask's for our details and phone number and rings us back....

he rings back and tell my fiance that his just waiting for officer the radio back and let him know his on his way...... he hangs up.. we keep following as instructed and get all the way out to woop woop (remember we only just moved to vic) at this turn off T section he rings back asking were we are... and that they get these phone calls all the time daily we just cant get officers out to the Hwy to pull them over..... and thanked us for giving the details of the car.... i fired up... we had driven for ever as instructed for that f**king answer.... i yelled out to him.... "IF IT WAS A f**kING HOON THAT HAD MADE IT THIS FAR YOU"D HAVE THE ARMY ON BOARD YOU f**kING TOSSER".... my misses back handed me and apollogised to him and hung up......

i know i shouldnt of said that but when you way up and quarter of tank to get there and back.... i was furious......

Sorry about any typo's.... still fired up....

/Rant over

lol. i wasnt trying to be the cop. i seriouly though someone was going to die... even when she came up to the T section at the end she was stoppenon a huge angle facing her car not far of 90 degrees to trafic direction towards the right... but at least she had the proper indicator on and turned left.....

i yelled out to him.... "IF IT WAS A f**kING HOON THAT HAD MADE IT THIS FAR YOU"D HAVE THE ARMY ON BOARD YOU f**kING TOSSER"....

I was thinking the exact same thing as i was reading ur post! LoL

...in all seriousness though, from the West Gate, down the freeway, onto Western Hwy, and down Western Hwy is a fair distance to travel which would've taken a fair bit of time; so i'd like to know the reason for the lack of response.

Imagine if the car had gone over the median strip and into on-coming traffic. ...or slammed into any one of the trees beside the Western Hwy? Its a shame to think that the emergency services would've arrived quick only AFTER an accident occurs :P

exactly.... it was a huge distance..... we where in the middle of no were in the end and didnt get home till 11:10... all to be a good citizen...... they definatly know how to win me over.....

that sucks! i know how you feel too, a few years ago a guy side swipped my friend driving and took off, so in the passenger seat i called the police and asked for back up LOL as we chased them and stayed on the phone and all the officer could say is no patrols were in the area so we hooned it till the car gave up and they got away :P

you'd think the distance you travelled a cop somewhere would be able to respond. too bad for your efforts, good work though!

I've just given up on reporting people. The last time I went down to the police station with a number plate as I was following a drunk/drugged driver swerving all over the road and hitting guard rails they didn't bother to send anyone out.

If it's not a hoon in an import, they don't care if there's someone out there endangering lives.

ahhh, give them a break... they're all busy eating doughnuts and watching matlock...

maaaatttloooooooooccccckkkkkkkkk.... /grandpa simpson

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatloooooooooooooooooooock! HAHAHAHA! I love that line, MATLOCK EXPRESS WAY!

what about mcgyver?

VIC POLICE FTL

Guy in springvale was car jacked guy runs out sees mates with blood over his face they call police it pissing down rain anyway on phone for 30min nothing cops call back after 45min tell mates to tell guy who got car jacked to walk to police station

cupple of things.

1. its pretty un australian to dob people in, sure I know drunk people on the road is pretty much unnaceptable but reporting the plates and keeping out of it is realistically as far as I would go.. if that. I mean think of it this way, your going up a side street and an aged pensioner gets an earfull of your blow off valve, your not hooning, but they report you and you get pinched.. shitty way to enforce the law imo but its getting like that more and more, do you realy want to contribute to us turning into that kind of society?

2. vic coppers only want to fine you or find somthing to arrest you for, and there is sweet fa presence unless they are pinching you for some minor offence all in the name of the road toll.

meanwhile ice junkies do what the want when they want without much of a worry about getting nailed by the jacks.

Vic police are a joke

Instead of calling the police you should have called dob-in-a-hoon and reported a dangerous street race....they would be there quick :D

Nice work trying to do the right thing, too bad the police didn't respond appropriately.

As bad as it sounds...i probably wouldn't have bothered either...the whole time i was reading, i was thinkin "i bet his efforts were for nothing..."

I would have just reported the plates also and left it at that...at least u know u didn't completly ignore the situation and gone home feeling entirely guilty.

    • I replaced the whole clutch line with the chase bays braided hose, I think it removes that loop, is it the short hose that comes immediately off the slave or is there a drawing in the manual to find what you’re referring to? It was just re-bled when I upgraded to the nismo slave, old slave worked fine but I thought that might help, didn’t change a thing. It’s like the first half of the pedal is pushing air and then when it finally actuates the master the friction zone is tiny. Makes it practically impossible to launch the car
    • Yep, that was one of the things we learned fast in the past with our MX5. When you drive with the top down, you are effectively standing out in the sun, 100% of the time, and not getting in any shade (because roads aren't shaded generally!). Just like standing out in the middle of a field on a sunny 27C day is a bit of a bad plan, so is sitting in a MX5 without sun protection.
    • I also just ordered some Frankenstein bolts and side mounts to fit a hard top Just in case I do find one, basically so it doesn't need to be fixed to the car with only the front latch.......and then gaffa tape to keep it in place for the RTN journey from wherever I get it
    • If your temps are fine now, you probably won't have any issues with where your vents are as they don't look right up at the windscreens high pressure area, so any differences when giving it the beans for extended happy laps would be minimal, but, they should vent heaps when stuck in traffic  Much like how that reverse cowl on my SS let "visible" heat out when stationary, but, because it was basically at the windscreen my coolant temps on the Hwy actually raised because air was being fed into it at speed (110kph), to only come back down to around 90° when I got off the Hwy And your 100% correct about the NC currently not needing vents, but, if I was to add a turbo, and a oil cooler and intercooler in front of the condenserand radiator, and then take it to the track???? It is apparently a recommend requirement if I don't want to worry about coolant or oil temp issues, but, any of the above are possible scenarios, over time As it sits now, with the triple pass radiator and stock air conditioning system, I have absolutely no issues with either temps or air conditioning efficiency, I've been basically daily driving thie car for the last month, both on the Hwy, and peak hour, bumper to bumper traffic, but, that's pretty much expected from basically a standard engine  Talking about no issues daily driving, it was 39° the other day and I was sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on the M5 and then M7, with the top down, and with the air conditioning blowing nice cold air on my feet, balls, and face, well, there was one issue, my head and arms got pretty sun burnt Note to self: leave a hat and sunscreen in the car for such days 🤣
    • I would agree, unless you need something specific to the HV motor/battery side repaired or investigated, any mechanic will be able to perform normal services, but if you prefer, maybe look for a mechanic who regularly services/repairs Nissans, the VQ engines are pretty common in the Nissan lineup.  Sorry, I can't make any suggestions, I don't live in Vic.
