Eastlink Cruise...

Listen up Peeps...

I've had this topic up in the Members Area for a few weeks now... ...and now the time is upon us...

We'll meet at the Doncaster Park-and-Ride near the north end of EastLink and head down to Frankston... ...There we'll meet up with our southern brothers and have a bit of a meet and greet, and maybe something to eat... ...Any suggestions for a southen meet point would be appreciated... ...Then we'll all saddle up and head back up north to the Park-and-Ride... ...Where we can hang for a little while... ...and those from the south can head back down...

Some people have expressed interest in going down in daylight and coming back at night...

I'll leave the poll open until Thursday 3rd of July...

***Some people want to do it this weekend... ...but I already know of two councils that are doing a number of bus rides for elderly and disabled groups... ...And I'm sure there would be heaps of other groups doing it too...***

there's a pretty sizeable carpark on the other side of frankston here. it's about 5 min outside of frankston (basically, jump off the moorooduc hwy at hastings/frankston-flinders rd, down to the nepean hwy and we're there)

there's another big carpark near the peir, but it's usually a lot more full, but there's a decent fish and chip joint right near there too best souvas ever

Both those sound like good places... ...The one near the pier also looks like it is closer to places to get something to eat... ...The one on your map looks like it could be a good rally point to start with...

That carpark is in Frankston, it's heading towards the base of Olivers hill and under 1klm from the pier carpark...There's my house .... recently named Victoria's cleanest beach. woohoo

If you do the run on opening w/end you might get some media coverage....I know there's also a massive bike run on the day. It might be nice to get a skyline on tv for something goodish/non hoon like.

yeah the one near the pier is closer by far to the main drag and all the takeaway joints. down side to that is it's often hard to find parking for ine or two cars, let alone a biggish cruise. hence the suggestion of the further away one. the only reason people park there is for the beach (which is minimal this time of year) and club meets. you'll often see a few nice rides down there, but i'm sure we'd be welcome if there was another meet at the same time

it's gonna be a carpark on opening day. every asshole and his dog will think they are the only person going down and it will just become frustrating

i'd rather go down there at the speed limit. but not over. it's COVERED with cameras

We could pull over for a mid freeway picnic and invite all the pretty ladies passing to join us....I know it's illegal to stop on the freeway, but the thought was good.

it just occured to me, there's a cruise up arthurs seat on the 13th as well... we could just skip frankston alltogether and stay on the peninsula fwy go all the way to the meet point in arthurs seat then back to doncaster once we're done there

that would be made entirely of epic and petrol consumption

yeah i'm up for that but petrol!!!!! ah its os expensive 178.9 a litre wow for 100 octane for a big single turbo gtr is crazy but i love it so for sure i'm in!!!

it makes a lot more sense for me, being from box hill it would save me doing the eastlink part twice in 2 weeks. once for the cruise, and secondly for the arthurs seat cruise. you're right... this could get expensive

I'll be going tomorrow, but I'll probably leave the nissan and take the old heap out for a run so I can mingle with the rodders and cruisers. Off to the car wash I go.
